Leon Draisatl - time to prove?

Draisaitl is a rare player. Players of his ilk dont come around often. The guy has the ability to be the best playmaker in hockey then turn around and pop 50 in the same season. Has size, speed , insane hockey IQ..protects the puck like Forsberg and calm as **** on the ice.

AND he has a nasty streak and doesn't take shit, like Forsberg.

They're not similar players at all, but they have the same traits in different bodies.

Draisaitl has been pretty elite almost as long as McDavid. I thought the narrative would have died after he was the Oilers best playoff player in 2017 and then scored 50, and was often essentially the C in terms of defensive positioning when he was on McDavids line. The narrative that he’s a pretender has been dumb for years already.

Reading this thread while watching the game was fantastic. HF produces some of the worst hockey takes known to man. Drai put up 50g last year with over 100pts and leads the league with 89pts in 56 games this year yet there’s guys on here writing essays full of absurd stats showing that he’s on par with Elias Lindholm or at best a “top 20 player” because he’s on the same powerplay as McDavid. Can those same people please break down how many points Pastrnak has away from Marchand and Bergeron? Or Kucherov away from Stamkos and Point? Only on HF can points be looked at in a negative light if other elite players contribute to them.

Four points in the first game with Mcdavid down and he’s still going to get completely disrespected by some of you guys on here. Hilarious.
