First 13 games because he pads his stats against weak Pacific teams in the first 2 rounds and disappears in the 3rd round again.
Context matters. He has a broken index finger along with an abdominal injury.

Lmfao, the entire premise of this thread is about how many points Draisaitl is padding.

This is peak hypocrisy.

Literally every player is nursing injuries deeper into the playoffs. If Draisaitl can't play through them, he can't be considered one of the best playoff performers in NHL history.

That's true but the extent of the injuries matter. Breaks are more significant than bruises and thus hamper a player's ability to perform. Think about trying to win faceoffs or nail a shot with a broken finger.

where was this posted and who is the source?
It's been shown on TV that he's wearing a splint on his finger. There was also a picture of him exiting a plane with a bandage on his finger.

doesnt necessarily mean its broken, what about the abdominal injury? is that made up?

He was injured in the first game against Vancouver. He left the ice and didn't return for the remainder of the game. He has also missed most practices since that time. A back or rib injury has been suspected. As you know, the exact nature and extent of playoff injuries are kept under wraps but in some cases, you can definitely tell if there are injuries.

Lol, Oilers fans are the last bunch to make excuses for poor play from their players. Nobody is making up injuries for anyone.
i mean drai clearly doesnt need any excuses, hes unreal this year...just trying to get a better idea of whether or not the claims were real. i just saw the brace on his finger and it does look f***ed but how can an internet poster tell if someones abdomen is injured? is he just that good?

I have extensively studied footage of his abs and can tell you he seems injured

Where are the other superstars then who have put up any similar numbers against similar competition? Were they all playing a Dallas-calibre team in the first 13 games throughout their playoff history?

Why he isn't performing as good against Dallas is speculative. But he is injured as well, and if his injury has as much of an impact on his overall game as it does have on his faceoffs, it might be the most obvious and defining reason.

Successful jinx thread?
I actually think he might be hurt as his signature shot just hasn’t been there lately.
It’s absolutely clear that whoever started this thread did so with the hopes that things would play out exactly as they did.

The Pacific division is trash.

This is a byproduct of the new playoff format instead of the old 1v8.

Draisaitl is a great player. He's just not one of the greatest playoff performers in NHL history.

Currently has a splint on an index finger after blocking a shot with his hand late in the Van series. Fortunately for the Oilers McDavid appears to be skating better again.

Weird that every metric says otherwise.

Cool nobody cares. Nice try to downplay his achievement.
Gretz and Mario were shite defensive players too.
Cool. I was responding to someone who literally said he was playing Selke level defense, and he literally isn’t. Nice try not reading that and missing how I actually complimented him?

Gretzky was a +40 after his first 6 playoff seasons. He greatly outscored his defensive liabilities.
