Leon Draisaitl is not having a good season, he's having a great season

I can see him getting 60 plus and the Rocket Richard.

Remember, before the Oilers lost to Vegas in '23, Leon was on pace to break the all-time single postseason goal record of 19.

Your lack of faith in this team yet your relative faith in Skinner is something... This team was good enough to make it to Game 7 despite Stuart Skinner having the worst numbers of ANY netminder to play in a Stanley Cup Final since maybe the 80s? Maybe ever, when adjusted? This team was good enough to drag its asses that far with a goalie that bad.

Before Monday, we had just slaughtered three really good teams in a row (granted, Minny was hurting) and had a defense good enough to make our terrible starter shine. We are already there. You just can't see the obvious problem.
If Skinner was that bad we wouldn't have made it that far. Dallas would've killed us. You have strange faith in an organization that can't draft worth a damn. And just lost two useful young players for basically nothing. And signed two bums in Jeff Skinner and Arvidsson who have provided next to nothing to this team.

They struck out with basically every goalie since Roloson. But the next one is definitely going to be good, just you wait.

He's been pretty insane this year. Dominant in all three zones and driving elite 5vs5 results away from McDavid both offensively and defensively. Definitely the Oilers MVP so far.

I feel like we've had this chat before. We wouldn't have made it that far if Skinner wasn't benched for those games against Vancouver. He almost lost us Game 7 of that series too. We all know about the Dallas series...what else has he done? Akira Schmid schooled Shesterkin and the Rangers a couple postseasons ago. Now he's in the AHL.

And I'll take 2022 Mike Smith and Cam Talbot at any point over Skinner. Koskinen too, even though it's telling that nobody wanted him after his Edmonton run. Those guys played behind a worse defense than what we have now. Skinner has worse numbers behind the best defense we've had since Pronger was here.

Yeah, we lost those players, we added a couple bums, and we're still good at most aspects of the game...and still terrible at goaltending.

I feel like Drai is the Jagr to Lemieux. I remember hearing about how Jagr was carried forever by lemieux and then you look back and his trophy case got bigger after Lemieux retired. There have been many games (playoff and regular season) over the years where I have left feeling Drai was the best player on the ice and I think McDavid is the best player in the NHL.

You really forget how utterly shit Smith was against the Flames and Avalanche. Hell using your logic he almost cost us the LA series in 2022.

Drai is playing with Kapanen and Podkolzin. if there is anyone in preseason that thought pods and Kaps are top 6 players, please raise your hand. He is absolutely carrying his own line at 5 on 5.

34 Even Strength points. I'm not saying all were with Pods and Kapanen but he's not being carried here.

For fun, how would your 1C do with Pods and Kapanen?

Pods MacK Kap

Pods Matthews Kap

Pods Barkov Kap

Just saying.

Imagine if Pod and Kap were playing with Bozak instead.
