Between the body language sign reading and the interpretations of how he dealt with offseason workout goals? Sure, feel free to feel that way, but IMHO this thread has become one of the most ignore-worthy on this board.
Because his body language is noteworthy and it’s a real thing. And his fitness level looks like it hasn’t gotten much better at all. None of it is imo unfair criticism. Go ahead and ignore if you’d like.

I’ll try (most likely unsuccessfully), because those things aren’t actually real. It’s just guys (understandably) being bored by the team and looking for things to discuss in a rather simple situation.

Leo has gotten some shit here, some of it he deserves and some of it is not on him and so doesn’t deserve all the blame. I do see an issue with his conditioning where he seems to be gassed at the end of a shift that’s not very long, although looked great on the end of that OT shift to score the goal.

He also needs to build muscle so when he makes those plays with the puck he won’t be knocked off the puck so easily.

Cronin needs to put him in all situations get him playing over 16+ mins or so a game. They need to shape him into a Two-way 1C.

That was much more like what I was expecting to see from Carlsson. Still needs to learn to use his body more defensively, but he definitely popped more on a shift to shift basis in this one compared to a lot of the games this season where you didn't really notice him.

Hopefully the mid-season break was a good reset and he can have a strong second half.

I'm a huge Leo supporter, but if you haven't noticed the bad body language or the fatigue, you're not watching the games.

I don't know that it's indicative of anything worrisome long-term (particularly the body language), so I'm not ascribing anything meaningful to it other than Leo needs to continue to get stronger. But it's real.

After having a rough stretch of 4 points in 15 games, ever since he got back on the score card against Montreal he has 9 points in 8 games. I don’t even feel like he’s even necessarily playing to where he realistically could so it’s good to see despite that he’s still starting to produce well again.

Plus he is still not getting the best support from Cronin. So it’s a really good sign.

100% this, he is completely invisible for long stretches and then all of a sudden you're like "damn, he's got two goals somehow." Once he learns how to be "on" and engaged for a whole game, we've got something special.

Totally agree, last night was a microcosm of that. He was good for sure and had 2 goals but he could’ve been even a lot better

Gripping the stick less and executing quick plays under pressure is still steps in the right direction. I get what you're saying, still even more room to improve but if nothing else, it seems the 4 Nations appearance has helped him get out of the mental funk. At least somewhat.
