Either Sweden is severely outclassed by the States or they are entirely checked out. They don't look even remotely competitive right now.
I mean, they have Leo as their top line center right now.

Love the kid but it’s gonna be tough to compete with this US roster when that’s the case

The USA would be even better if they would have left JT Miller at home and brought Troy Terry

That's fair but the effort level isn't there either.
I agree. There’s a weird feel to their team. They don’t have a ton of guys who are in their primes.

A lot of guys who are still good players but are kind of in the twilight phases of their careers. And then Leo who’s 20 and not quite there yet.

Quite the contrast to Canada and the US who have 80% of their roster in their primes

I'd be surprised if Leo was in sync - wasn't he playing with a different line in practice?
Think so. I think he was fine out there. Yeah a bit out of sync with his linemates but hasn't made any egregious mistakes, but hasn't really contributed much to chances yet. Looks better than a kid who doesn't belong.

He’s playing like a 20 year playing in his first tournament against the best players in the world. Super safe and simple. Still needs to learn not to get drilled though.

edit: As I typed that he just made a great move to get somewhat of a scoring chance.

Par for the course. Has the 1 or 2 flashes per game where you can see it, but has yet to turn it to consistency and production

Fair, this is honestly how I would expect him to play in his first game like this, this no “All Star tournament”, but I would expect more play driving in the NHL. He’s still only 20 so not too worried at his game at the NHL level and clearly team Sweden sees him as a potential elite Center at the international level to even involve him in this tournament yet alone play him (even if it’s a “meaningless” game).

Edit: NHL hockey should seem “easy” for him after this.
