Devils development coach Esa Pirnes was at the game, and Lenni exchanged some words with him (no further info on that).

Said that the Devils have been in contact, but he's wanted to not do it to an excessive degree. Wants to now focus on this Ässät season. And that because of the military service last summer he's not been there in a while.

Lenni said that he feels like he's taken good steps in his development. That he can make the final decision himself when it comes to him going and challenging for an NHL spot, but atm. he's unable to reveal the time when he's leaving.

He can wait until after June 2027 and then sign with a better organization.

Flu going through the team apparently and even after the line-ups were announced Lenni's winger partner Erholtz got replaced. Most things weren't really clicking today with all the different combos (and maybe some guys weren't quite at a 100% who knows), for Lenni either (in the first he did break up some plays in the middle of the ice when the other team was on the attack, and hit a post up close but yeah).

How much longer does the season run for him? When do playoffs start?

So... some chances again for Lenni here and there (8 shot attempts), but the different combos they tried without Erholtz simply didn't work nearly as well during this b2b on either 5on5 or the PP. Does so much work with his energy to create space etc. which seemed to impact Järvinen even more clearly.

(And in general obviously when everything gets scrambled, now also on the defense & goaltending (hey at least the guy who's not been great in lower leagues did a solid job for you in his first Liiga game), there's a decent chance things become even more difficult vs. a good healthy team. And when you add some bad individual mistakes again you're probably gonna lose)

Thursday away against the last place team, and then on Saturday at home vs another team battling in the 5th-8th spot.

We'll see what happens I guess.

For some Devils comparisons

Noesen - 21.04
Jack - 23.33
Nico - 22.42
Bastian - 21.62
Dowling - 21.81
Bratt - 22.68

If the bursts are being calculated similarly then the Lenni top burst looks pretty good.

First step acceleration and keeping speed while being agile are more what about effective skating is so I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on just max speed attained.
