Will he be trying out for the big club this summer?
I assume he'll be in the US next year. If he's really good he'll be in NJ, if he's not quite ready then Utica.

Now while I'm sure the team would love it if he was so good out of the gate he forces his way into the NHL, I think the team would like the idea of him providing depth while playing in the AHL.

Lenni with a nice secondary assist today for point number 40:

Continued with another sturdy overall performance with the highlights being several good passes for some great chances. So far a welcome improvement compared to how it felt like a bit of a slog for him at times during the latter half of the previous reg. season.

Haven't followed Lenni too much this season, but stat wise he's matched last season's games played and has improved his goal and assist totals.

He's 2nd on his team in scoring and 20th overall in the league.

Also tied for 19th overall in goals with Devils legend Nate Schnarr.

Yep, a PP-goal and an EN-assist today in a season-low 14:14 (result of a ton of PK):

Goal: 1:08
Assist: 4:40

Kept up with the strong play, and now 12 points on this 9-game point streak.

In general team news: With a center addition a few days back team currently has solid depth on all positions.

Last 10 game stretch starts next weekend with a back2back in a close race for a top-4 position to get straight into the playoffs.

Continued his point streak with a secondary assist on the PP*:

Couldn't watch at parts, but from what I saw Lenni kept being involved in creating some chances, & had a post with his 6 shot attempts, even though it kinda felt like this time he didn't receive quite as many passes for them on the PP. Ended up getting 2m20s more ice time (20:20) than the next forward, who was his winger linemate Erholtz, who got a 10min misconduct. Also kinda feels like the team is relying a tad too much on Lenni's line atm. despite the current amount of healthy players.

*which during that misconduct replaced Erholtz with the goalscorer Olli Palola, who's got experience with exactly that & also with playing with Lenni's center Järvinen a while back. Made that unit look even more dangerous with the extra options it seemed to bring all-around, so as much as said unit had been cooking in the previous 15 games it would feel like an intriguing change to continue with. Kinda doubt it happens, but I guess you never know with the 2nd unit kinda being in need of some tuning up anyway.

edit. stat corrections

And the streak ends at 10.

An anemic and sloppy performance today by the team overall, a horrific one for a specific defenseman while on the ice with Lenni's forward line, and not that much from that trio either (hey Lenni did hit the post again).

Oh yeah, and if I saw correctly they did have Palola on Lenni's PP-unit on the one effort they got to try.

Assignment now turned into shaping up again for next week and keeping home-ice advantage for the quarterfinal-qualifier with a 5-8 placement.
