Lenni Hämeenaho's tournament resembles that of Nyman's in many ways. They have both been at the top of the charts in scoring chance generation among all skaters, yet weren't rewarded for their efforts before the final group stage game against Sweden.

Hämeenaho was cooking against Latvia. In typical fashion, he was always one or two steps ahead of the opposition with his positioning in the offensive end, consistently finding himself open in dangerous spots and looking to connect with his linemates for give-and-goes. Mostly known for his finishing talents, he also showed plenty of touch as a passer, including a beautiful cross-ice feed off the rush that netted him a primary helper. Even the lack of footspeed didn't prevent Hämeenaho from splitting the defence off the rush once in a while.

After the group stage, Hämeenaho ranks fourth among all skaters in expected primary points. As Finland lines up against Slovakia and Adam Gajan, arguably the hottest goalie in the tournament, the Finns will be looking heavily in Hämeenaho's direction in trying to solve him.

Rodwin Dionicio, D, Switzerland (Anaheim Ducks)

  • 2.07 game score

  • 5 scoring chance assists
  • 8 slot passes
  • 4 controlled entries
  • 10 advantages created
  • 2.5 game score

  • 7 shots (0.7 xG)
  • 3 controlled exits
  • 4 controlled exits
  • 4 cross-lane transition passes
  • 6 defensive zone breakups
  • 2.15 game score

I've learned to tamper expectations with prospects a bit over the years. I'd say many though his upside was a 3rd line player but with the way he has been playing I don't think it's out of the question he can be a 2nd line player in his prime. His skating still needs to improve but in the offensive zone he looks great. The types of goals he scores are what work at every level of hockey.

Solid middle 6 player is a reasonable expectation.

He just looked fairly smooth and mobile as he joined a rush on offense but the lead pass missed him.
