To provide a clear rational as to whats happening with these moves?

GMs leak this sort of stuff to media guys all the time. Hardly unique to Mirtle and the Leafs front office. Not exactly a must keep secret kind of stuff...
what other teams leak there lineups a day before to the media ?

Plenty of them do? Not everyone keeps it a secret. I knew the Wild lineup before tonight.

Again, I can't see a slightest down side about letting the fans know this kind of info. So what's to complain about?

wasn't complaining , i merely said they should just make him officially an employee instead of leaking there every move to him

If Lehtonen or Barabanov didn’t expect to have an AHL pay rotation and didn’t put a euro-out clause on it, then they should fire their agent.

They are in an extended training camp and unless they force the Leafs’ hand with stellar play, their waiver status will be used to the full benefit of the team. Like it always is for every cap team.

They both have European release clauses. Your statement "their waiver status will be used to the full benefit of the team" is right on the money though. It's unfortunate for their bank accounts that despite both of them playing professionally for nearly the past decade they are forced to sign a 2-way deal but that's the way it is.

Cool. So if they are really cheesed with this, then they’ll go back to europe. No need to worry about their feelings or their bank accounts. They are exactly where they expected to be. I know you weren’t too worried about it. But sometimes people get carried away saying stuff like “he didn’t come here to earn ahl dollars what a mess” and making a big deal out of ahl rotations.

Question,
Are the leafs allowed to keep these taxi squad guys fit by practicing harder with the extended roster? Not sure the Covid / League restrictions.

What I mean , can they essentially have full games with Marlies /sent down guys to stay closer to game ready.... can this be a behind closed door thing?

TS practices with NHL team, not AHL team.

They can be sent down to marlies at any point though. Everyone on TS has cleared the requisite waivers already.

They are kinda stuck in a limbo it seems. Unless someone gets injured or they want to go with 7D; there really isnt a way to get guys outa the lineup without exposing to waivers

I wonder if we'll see a few phantom injuries? Shh

Lehtonen has been called up on an emergency basis as defenseman Zach Bogosian has a upper body injury and unable to play tonight's game against ____.

Goaltender A. Dell has sustained a lower body injury in practice and Nicolaus Robertson will be taking his spot on the active roster on a emergency basis.

Barabanov did squat in game 1 ... to me it makes sense to take him out and put Lehtonen in and go with 7D ... it is very early in season and da forwards can easily handle it ... tomorrow well bring Robertson in and take Lehtonen back out ... then Barabanov will realize you gotta giver when you get ur chance .. it is not an automatic u suite up for our Leafs

Yea, he was pretty useless out there most of the time but I did like he had a couple nice shot blocks. One of them was on an absolute rocket and took a real bite out of him.

He showed some real heart there but, yea, he's gotta show some results too.

Bogo is injured, makes sense to look at Lehtonen. He has top 4 potential, why not play him against weak competition?
