I think it's a kind of perfect holding pattern for Chase Reid, while not impacting the long-term cap structure of the team.

Misa, Cherny, Dickinson, Stenberg/Reid/Carels/Verhoeff will still be on ELCs. Couture comes off the books next year. We have insane cap space for the next two years. Get a top pair placeholder and see what the kids can do with an upgrade on Klingberg as PPQB. I like Hamilton for the same reasons.

Unfortunately, I don't think Carlson will sign with SJ- even if we hit his ACV target, nor will Hamilton waive for SJ.
