You get what you pay for sometimes.
Most times. Drouin was never going to work. There is a reason he has like 10 goals in his last 150 games. He is done as NHLer. That hit he took from Ovi a few years back that f***ed up his wrist, he's never been the same since. He was at least a serviceable 40-50 pts guy at that point, now not even close.

Everyone needs to stop blaming the depth players. You’re not going to win many games when your best players are playing like trash. MacKinnon created more chances for Vegas than Colorado tonight.

It was a 0-0 game with the Avs on the PP before his brain dead play.

Also Georgiev is becoming a problem.

I know it's early and things could change as he settles into his new team, but I'm also not sold on Rossco as a centerman. I think we might need to pick up a 3C and move him to the wing where he can be more effective.

Every coach has a shelf life, but it would be really hard to replace Bednar + co. In order of importance to team success imo:

Mack
Makar
Rants
Bednar

Those 3 can take over a game at will, but Bednar is one of the best coaches in the league.
Footer is doing a heck of a job in Vancouver with the D core

He should be here

worse contract than JT Compher. He is nowhere near the player

Fantastic bring-up from TMV, per usual. His early production on PP1 has shielded him a bit from this glaring weakness on the team right now. There is no playdriver on the 2nd line. If you look back at the Cup year, Naz drove play more often than not at even strength and that largely carried them through not only the regular season, but their run. RyJo certainly isn't the only problem right now, but he's a big one.

Just watched the highlights.
Effort level. If it ain't 100% it will be closer to 50 than 90. That's how this team looks to me.

I miss Kadri driving that second line. I really do.
Dunno how he'd do today, but still, RyJo needs a wake up slap before every shift.

What happened to Makar before that first goal? Didn't see it from the highlights but he seemed in pain.

Calling @drhiii

We need your Piraat magic
Was outta commish. Like wtf happened. Nevermind.. saw replay that I can't unsee.

A different note.. Army West Point beat Air Force today in their intra service rivalry. 23-3. In a game that favored Air Force by 20 points. Army was supposed to get decimated before the game started. Thing is Army could care less. Complete smashmouth, unbelievably aggressive by the Black Knights. They have a direct shot at the Commander in Chief's Trophy in the greatest rivalry in all of sports. The Army-Navy game.

Beat Navy.

And an extra nugget: Every year, Army faces the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Paladins in the annual West Point Weekend hockey game. This series, conceived in 1923, is the longest-running annual international sporting event in the world.

Our last 3 away-games:

0-4 at Pittsburgh
0-4 at Buffalo
0-7 at Vegas

Unacceptable.

This team lacks a real leader. The loss of Landeskog is much worse than we could have imagined.

Mac is not captain-material. We all knew that. So isnt Rantanen. I really thought Makar could be it....

Our depth players havent arrived yet. And our 2C-problem might pop up sooner than predicted.....

Nuke is playing like a man who collects his money and be done with it right now. Whatever happened in Seattle seems to have a greater impact.

And we basically havent any real options to change something.

Good coaches are hard to find and Bednar is probably one of the best in the league. I would rather change some part of the team than him. He is crucial.

I'm glad I pulled the plug on that shit show at 0-3.

This team is talented but not mentally strong, that's why we couldn't get over the 2nd round hump for years. They have a hard time reversing momentum in games and have a clear mental block against VGK. It's not purdy.
