OMG He Didn't..jpg

Don't worry. Those are actually piles of salt. Bing wouldn't generate the picture when I used the term Bolivian nose whiskey.

I dont think I agree with this, largely because I think this idea that G/Byram not working together just isn't really true.

Girard has been our best Dman all year quite frankly, and while relative to expectations perhaps Byram has been disappointing, he's also still putting up really solid analytics all year. He's just having brain farts at a much higher rate than we'd like basically.

Admittedly I haven't been able to look and see if those two are putting up the godly possession metrics when together or just when separated, but both of them have controlled play at a high rate on the ice. Girard moreso, but Byram has still been solid. Those two along with Toews/Makar have clearly been the best 4 D we have and pretty much all 4 are controlling play completely when on the ice.
Byram being disappointing is a function of expectations being too high. He's actually been very solid in a reduced role.

Sounds like both JD and Tatar are back in tonight.

That means no Tufte. Guess I should have figured considering he didn't get recalled. Bednar lineups still baffle me to the very day.

The one thing I will give Bednar credit for, is that I believe he said he didn't really pull either guy out for their production, or lack thereof, rather there were system things and then he also wanted to give both MacDermid and Tufte a game because they are part of the team.

I personally thought Tufte did enough to earn a second game though. Although, to be honest, he did play last night, and both Drouin and Tartar are fresh.

Bo being disappointing is a sign of delusion. Bo is not the problem right now...

Makar needs to unf*** himself at 5 on 5.

This is probably the type of a game, where MacDermid and Tufte could be a useful part of the lineup though... It's going to get nasty no doubt.

Jesse Montano is gonna run DNVR out of town.
They do a good job and appear to have a good budget to cover the team...for how long though, that's the question. Not sure they get many views/money out of this.

Bo is fine but people were expecting him to be a franchise player by now. Expectations were too high.

MacDermid needs more ice time according to these numbers. Maybe MacDermid can get Cale going.

Hey guys, why does 1st in the Central have more votes than two points? We're not first in the Central right now.
Because after watching this game, the Stars are going to fold their franchise and we’re getting Heiskanen, Otter, Robo, Hintz and Stankoven for zero cap hits. Thus we will de facto become 1st in the Central.

Context: 22 yo defenseman with only 100 games in the NHL, little to no PP time and most of the time is asked to play top 4 minutes on his weak side.

I'd not say that he's in a position to dominate.

Toews is a disappointing player so far this year. The worst defender in our top 4.

In his last five games, Toews, being propped up by playing with Cale has

1 assist, 1 shot, 1 hit. 1 blocked shot and is -3.

The terrible and disappointing Byram in the same five games: 2 goals, 1 assist, 10 shots on goal, 11 hits, 7 blocked shots, and is +5.

Bo has significantly better analytics to Toews as well. Much better corsi relative and they get pretty similar o vs D Zone starts. And Toews gets to play with Cale on his LHD side.

Byram plays offhand with Girard. Girard has played well so far this season. But come on. Toews getting put in a much better position to succeed and he’s a wall flower many nights.

Maybe we should actually see what’s happening here. Toews needs to start to impact these games. He’s been pretty lousy.
