Can you give me the evidence that he did?Gee whiz. When Gerard gets home can you tell him not to bench his best line next time.

I thought you meant a quarter of the games played this year so far which would be 12. Even with the recent poor play, 20 games or whatever, that still doesn't match the 200 games that they have played together and been a top PP with the same players aside from Trocheck who I could see replacing with one of the kids . I still think this PP will turn it around and finish top 10.You quote a post where I broke down a 20 game stretch of ineptitude, and then ask a question about 10-12 games? Coaches (and I say this as someone who has coached quite a bit) understand things like benefit of the doubt. They also understand things like trends, diminishing returns, creating viable options within the roster to turn to when something isn't working from game to game, and recognizing that they have more (and more ready) talent on the roster than they did three years ago, etc etc etc.
A 12.5% for a full quarter of a season is not "ups and downs." It's broken down entirely, and it's been trending downwards rather than the other way around. And even before it broke down entirely, the PP this season has not looked nearly as effective as it did last season.
I'm not arguing for "demotions." I'm arguing for a reshuffling to have two more balanced units. We have the talent on this roster to roll out a PP1A and a PP1B, with the hotter unit getting the lion's share of the minutes on a game-to-game basis.I don't know anyone but Trochek is candidate to leave PP1. Kreider has been disappointing there that year but still historically a dominant PP player. Maybe you can convince me Trochek should be off the PP for Chytil or Kakko or someone but beyond that our PP1 personnel is just better than PP2 personnel.
If im nominated hf president, I instaban people dishonestly reframing arguments for 1 week.I haven't been able to watch every game (blackout here and there), but I haven't seen PP2 getting more time. They got a full minute once a bunch of games back, and scored on it, but they have generally getting their 20 to 25 seconds per PP. They did get the first 30 seconds of a PP a couple of games ago, which was unusual, but the actual time they get doesn't seem to have changed.
And I'm also not advocating for swapping the two units. PP2 is a bit flawed in construction, and Trouba has no business being on either PP unit. That's part of my issue. PP2 is an afterthought in its usage and its construction. I want the team to put together two viable PP units out of Panarin, Chytil, Kreider, Trocheck, Kakko, Lafreniere, Zibanejad, Fox, and maybe Miller (Fox is the only player I'd want out there for the full stretch). Kravtsov is another maybe. If one unit is hot, give them 1:30. If they go on a cold stretch, run the other unit. Putting all the perceived eggs into one basket with no backup plan is a recipe for disaster. If one of these 20 game cold stretches happened in the post-season? With no other plan in place but "keep trying because it worked three years ago"? We'd be out in round one.
And I would really appreciate it if you would stop trying to artificially minimize the issue. My earlier post clearly showed a 20 game stretch where PP1 has been dismal, which includes a 10 game stretch (that they are currently on) where PP1 has been incompetent. You've now framed my argument as being about a "10-12 game" stretch of poor play (in an earlier post) and now as a "5-10 game" stretch of poor play. My post wasn't ambiguous. This is a 20 game (and counting) run of horrid play from PP1. Be honest about that at least.
I'm sure Gallant wanted the 2 points just as much as anybody but getting 1 point against a good team on the road isn't the end of society as we know it.Did anyone else see Goody sit on the bench in tears after the loss? Obviously this game meant a lot to him and other Canadian players and coaches.
I don't think Gallant being flippant about getting a point is going down too well, it's clear Gallant is deflecting. The Rangers choked in the 3rd period.

The PP is middle of the pack with those players not producing like they normally do. It will turn around. I stand by what I said. Top 10 by the end of the year.I opened the post by listing the pp totals for the first unit guys over the last 20 games (18 games for Kreider because of the two he missed). 20 games is a quarter of a season.
As for finishing top 10, I just see no evidence of that. They have been middle of the table for most of the season. And the current trend has been going down, not up. Zibanejad is historically a bit streaky like that, but I have serious concerns that Kreider's tip-tacular season may well be a one-off. How many tip in PP goals has he had this year? I honestly can't even remember the last one. Last year, it seemed like he was tipping in one or two per week. Without that option, teams know that they just need to close off the passing lanes to Zib for that one timer and let the Rangers' PP dink passes around the perimeter for the full two minutes. We need our PP to be harder to plan against, and having two viable units could do just that.
I do envy you your optimism though. Since I doubt they will even try to create two balanced 1A/1B units like I want, I hope that you are correct in your thought that the Rangers current PP1 returns to last year's standard of play by the end of the season.
If it was a come from behind tie, yea I could accept that. They blew the lead, AGAIN!I'm sure Gallant wanted the 2 points just as much as anybody but getting 1 point against a good team on the road isn't the end of society as we know it.

Well, do you think PP1A would be better than the current PP1? Because I'd rather see the best PP1 on for 90 seconds than two watered down units split time.
Forgive me for not being satisfied when we go one game without the coach making boneheaded decisions. But when we beat Florida 6-2 the other night it was as dead as a doorknob.
What was boneheaded? Starting Mika, Panarin, and Miller? Boneheaded? Maybe not what you would do in NHL 23...but boneheaded?Forgive me for not being satisfied when we go one game without the coach making boneheaded decisions.
Definitely not boneheaded. I would have started Zib, Panarin, Fox. That's the only difference. What was boneheaded? Starting Mika, Panarin, and Miller? Boneheaded? Maybe not what you would do in NHL 23...but boneheaded?
I'd love hear his insane blabbering about Gallant right about now.WHERE IS AVGAARD!!!! We need him to break down the insanity!
When you walk into the lockerroom that first time you‘be got to put a whuppin’ on the biggest meanest guy there- to establish your dominance. I suppose that means you’ve got to fight… yeah.. Rammer?Yours truly.
Yup. My track record continues to be flawless, just need Kravtsov to shatter all of Gretzky’s records and I’ll be batting 1000Remember Trocheck when Chytil is traded for picks or signs a shitty 1 year deal.
Thank you so much Drury.
What’s the initiation fee for this country club? Is there a waiting list? How’s the food?
Context, as usual, matters.
If Gallant were a reputable coach, he would see which lines/players were doing well and not doing well and act accordingly.
Yes, it's more than fair to say his coaching cost us this game because he didn't put us in the best position to win.
You watched the same game we did. Surely, you saw what happened. Are you defending his decision to take the best line off the ice at the end of the game in favor of players that were turning the puck over and did nothing 5v5? What's the reasoning here? Then OT happened. LOL.
Kakko and Laf get even less minutes. Krav dies from exhaustion.Yours truly.
