Glad to sneak out with the win. Start was a struggle, but a better performance overall, and the team and Matthews really came alive at the end when we started to push more offensively. Congrats to Marner for his 700th point! Beauty pass on the OT winner.

TSN used to update the standings practically in real time. Now you have to wait until the morning. Disappointing, it's also been my go-to site.

I been using the score app for a while to keep track of scores and standings. Seems pretty good though the standings are usually not updated until late at night.

No big deal losing a few games. They were looking good playing well the whole time. Just weren't getting the bounces is all.

I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing this team is a real contender. The Leafs are beneficiaries of a weak division. Boston, Tampa, and Florida have all regressed while none of the rest have improved.

It's the biggest smoke and mirrors trick since David Copperfield made the Stature of Liberty go bye bye.

A squeaker overtime win tonight isn't convincing anyone this pretender contender is legit. The greatest fan base in the world has seen this show enough times to know it's all just an illusion. Setting everyone up for the grand finale in April.

That's when the whole team disappears.

The pass and the goal were both nicely executed; great chemistry knowing what the other would do and see. Funny that the worst bobble of the night happened between both of them when they each made horrific passes on the PP in the first that resulted in taking a penalty. Other than that, I thought they were both pretty stellar for the evening.

Agreed, both beauties that played a great game tonight, and took a blunder. Marner was excellent on the play but he makes that in his sleep (admirably). It was rightfully Willy's moment tonight though, he shut the game down.

His stick worked pretty good the year he scored 20.

The majority of which were taking wrist shots pinching to the circles. He could have 0 goals on the year as long as he’s generating rebounds and forcing defenders to acknowledge that he exists instead of collapsing to the slot knowing there’s nothing him or Marner can do about it.

Lots of players have kids during their career. Is that supposed to be an excuse for his piss poor play or strictly anecdotal ?

He's been bad this year. An explanation is that he had a kid 2 months before the season and came into the season out of shape and out of practice.

An alternative explanation is that he is just washed up at the age of 30. To me, this one is less likely.

Didn't this same thing happen to Tavares last season? Had a kid just before the season started and had one of his worst seasons ever? Now back to the norm this season. Hopefully that is just the case with Rielly because he's becoming almost unplayable at this rate.

Glad for the win but a game like this tells you all you need to know about Willy.
He screws around for the last 10 games, makes a dumb comment in the presser, takes some heat about it then turns it on simply because he feels like it.
He could be so much more if he simply bothered to show up more nights then he does

Totally. Only one guy, or two, in the league could find that open man on the blue line. His outstanding pass in that powerplay also set up the goal by Matty (should’ve gotten the assist over Willy), and that drop pass in the 3rd along the boards? Wow - playmaking savant!

As I was watching today, I thought to myself that Rielly was using a different stick than he has recently and that it was a bit shorter than normal.

He was also using black tape on his stick when usually it's white.

I'd like to see Knies get back to being more direct with the puck, use his size to get to the net.
Seems recently that he's missing on opportunities looking for Matthews.

Good to see more are realizing how bad Rielly has been, Always got a pass for whatever reason and how many years now have we spent resources looking for a partner to hide his warts.
