How is 3-2 not close?

How can game management not be considered game fixing?
It is close but they will usually give the trailing team a call to try to tie it.

Yes it is game fixing but not in the sense they want certain teams to win or lose. The whole point of game management is for parity.

Kind of like calling balls on close pitches against one team and calling strikes on close pitches for the other team?

I’m watching him closely, i thought Malgin was virtually invisible last night, a complete passenger. JT and Nylander were pretty effective as a duo, which masked what Malgin actually contributed. Is he worthy of a top 6 role? He scored an easy tap in anybody could score in the first game, and had a breakaway. This game nothing, so I remaim unconvinced he’s the answer there.
my thought is that they're giving him 10 games then reassessing

if it's a positive outlook then he more than likely gets another 10 if not Robbie will be trading places with him. Hopefully Robbie is using his time with the Marlies constructively!

Let's hope he has a great run, and makes himself a valuable asset for a team that needs some offense.

It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, not many guys from the Swiss League get to play on one of the top second lines in the NHL. The trick is to see if he’s actually contributing, because like last night the other two are more than capable of driving play as a duo and nobody really notices his contributions. So far I’d say there’s nothing another player couldn’t provide.

If many of you believe that then why do you continue to watch. You all know they aren't winning.

Because I enjoy the game of hockey?

Life would be shitty if all people were concerned with were outcomes and not the journey itself. People would miss 99% of....well....everything, and then just be miserable if the outcome wasn't to what they demanded.

I don't believe they make calls to have the Leafs lose. The refs are like that across the league. IMO a big part of why many think that way is the only hockey they watch is the Leafs.

DOPS OTOH ...

Kadri as a Leafs player running the goalie this year likely misses time as the photo showed both his feet in the air as he drove into the keeper.

Can we stop playing politics and just put Nylander as 2C before we find out how good of a natural Centre he is somewhere else

Mason Marchment scored 2 last night including a beautiful rush from his own end, blowing past the defence before burying it….

…… but we’ve got The Amazing Malgini who I’m sure will step in for any ruff/tuff stuff.
:sarcasm:
Marchment living up to his new cap hit by game 82 must be the nightmare of many here

Funny thing is I log in today and see the main boards crapping all over Samsonov. People aren't really interesting in discussions there, the only point is to just push your narrative along. People said Soup wasn't a starter when we went with him, and then said we let a starter go when we let him walk.

Sure Samsonov let in a soft goal

But yet last I checked this was Campbells first period 2nd goal against which looks nearly identical

And at the end of the day

1 GP 2.00 GAA .922 sv% 1.8 AAV
1 GP 3.01 GAA .917 sv% 5m AAV

Which would you choose so far? Point being, ignore the narratives.

1 game sample means nothing. Just like the Leafs losing to MTL on Wednesday means nothing. By your logic MTL 1.000 point %, Leafs are just a .500 team? Montreal is better than Toronto? That's how absurd it is to judge after ONE game.

Honestly, how

what I’ve said as well.

Malgin being handed 2LW on a silver platter to play with 2 top players.

What’s he doing to make the line better?

He’s a meh hockey player who doesn’t bring any discernible or driving attributes to the line. So far i see coattail riding and not much else.

Very vanilla, dime a dozen player from everything I see of him.

He’s been useless winning any pucks, which is what that line really needs. Anyways, let’s see how it works out.

I like Ilya, don't like Campbell, but that Miller shot was beauty.

I'll give you credit that you're certainly consistent with the spicy takes on extremely small sample sizes.

offense by the bucket load is never a bad thing, and that's not even taking the goaltending into consideration;)

So far yes, I'd say you're right, but if he plays himself out of a job it's good news for Robbie but not such good for the Leafs first 10!

do you have any idea what it's like not watching, it's a horrible and stress filled couple of hours, and besides when they finally do kick down the door and take home all the candy, how sweet will that be?

To be fair he hasn't had to win any because JT and Nylander have the puck on a string so far, but at the same time he is sort of "just there" with no real purpose or well oiled machine input. Better off having Robertson circling around waiting to hop on the puck when it becomes loose.
