I'm so excited to be able to watch Nylander for another 8 years. Giddy in fact. Him amd Matthews as career Leafs would be awesome.

I'm hoping we walk away from Tavares when his contract is up and go for a younger centre. And then with Marner what to do? I'd love a trade for a top dman, but those trades seem almost impossible to make.

I don't think we'll have a choice but to resign him. Exciting times either way.

JT can be our #3C or LWer at a number that works for us.

Nylander will get his percentage of the cap and he will get all the hate again because it will be over 11 mil .

It would also allow Matthews to be the captain without it being a massive issue.

Sure if someone is available but JT should be better playing against weaker competition. Let's see how much he really wants to win here.

If I were Marner, I would be clever and extend for just under what Nylander will. Take so much heat off yourself by being the 3rd highest paid. It'll make his life so much easier.

I mean, can Matthews really make the team his own when the former captain is still on the team? I am probably expecting too much from Matthews from a leadership position. But I can't seem him being a better leader than whatever he is already doing.

I'm no longer shocked when someone jumps a guy poking at out goalies pads or glove. In fact I am shocked if no one does.

Gio, McCabe, Domi, Jarnkrok, Benoit, Lagesson, Rielly, f***ing Marner, Liljegren and others have jumped to the rescue of the goalies, and even sometimes their teammates

It kinda feels like this is sort of a team...

Third highest of our drafted trio I meant. Not with Tavares. Make sure going into 2025-26 you're the 3 highest of the drafted guys. He'll be seen more favourably imo.

This is the Marners were talking about though. Not normal people like you and I. I predict a big contract year from Marner next year.

Hill I can understand somewhat but some others are real castaways.

Benoit is making life really easy for Jones. Need to sign him quick before the price sky rockets (and an example of why you sign your stars and chase young breakout candidates instead, legit ones, not Nick Ritchie).

Great game and road trip. Jones with another solid effort. If Samsonov played this game I guarantee we lose. A lot of long shots through traffic were saved. Could easily have been 8-1 with all posts we hit.

Agree, and Knies is usually in the mix in the offensive end. Remember the hit on AM and Knies just jumped in right away. Bert will do the same too.
