Can we please stick to the game or future games in these type of threads? And if people still want to mope about playoff losses from the past and say that this team isn’t good enough, just don’t watch them till the playoffs. It’s very easy.

I love waking up, typing in NHL scores, and seeing a Leafs win. Just nothing like it! For those who watched the game, can you comment in more detail? Like some point form stuff about how some of the players played?

Not trying to be negative but relax on Woll. He hasn’t been great at any level. Has he been great for 3 games with the Leafs? Yes for sure but chill.

Also the Leafs are playing amazing hockey. Love to see it

Another solid victory for the Leafs.

At this point, the only thing that can set this train to derail is when Mrazek comes back. Never been a fan of his game and when he has played this season, it was awful. I hope he has a speedy recovery, but I'm not in a hurry to see him back in a game for the Leafs. Sorry, not sorry to say.

I still like Marner with Tavares and Nylander with Mattthews better. Not changing my views on that either.

Good game for Woll. SJ was taking it to us for a bit and Woll held down the fort long enough for the big boys to step in and take control. Satisfying game.

  • Leafs came out flying, specifically Nylander who scored in the first minute of play
  • Sharks were picking through our defense at times, but either shot wide or Woll stopped the shot. Not many rebounds.
  • 4the line continued to be a factor, Simmonds and Ritchie were scrumming it up at the Sharks goal, Simmonds seems to have found his legs again. Scored on a nice tip in front.
  • Spezza nearly had another vintage moment skating well and driving the net but missed up high.
  • Liljegren had a couple of givaway's after fanning on passes, but recovered nicely.
  • Rielly and Kerfoot had to leave for some time for blocking shots. Kerfoot got robbed by Reimers leg on a Breakaway SH chance.
  • Holl got caught up ice again, surprise surprise, after going deep into the O zone and getting caught up in a Sharks player
  • Powerplay was the best I've seen this year, with 5 grade-A chances, finally Tavares scored in tight
  • Once the game was 4-1 in the third, Keefe seemed to rest the top 2 lines more and consequently, the ensuing PP was not great.
  • Sharks pushed the last 6-7 minutes hard, but Woll came up with 3 great saves on a few flurries around him. Full marks for only the 1 goal against.
  • Game was never out of hand from the first minute.

That one power play last night.....if they do that too often, the league will never call another penalty against the Leafs. They were always in motion, and SJ was on their heels. Harlem Globetrotters on ice.

Some notes.....

* Leafs are 13-2 in their last 15 games.
* Leafs have only allowed 11 goals in their last 9 games, and 19 in their last 13. Only 4 even strength goals allowed in their last 6 games. They are 3rd overall in GAA.
* Leafs have scored 13 goals in their last 3 games to go from 27th to 13th in goals scored, and 45 goals in their last 14 games overall.
* Leafs special teams are both in the top 7.

Gotta say, this is just outright dominance.

third pairing was a bit of a disaster in their own end but really solid in the offensive zone. Creating lots of chances even one leading to a goal.

holl looks like he’s completely lost confidence in his game. But he wasn’t terrible. He just isn’t playing with the same jump he used to have. I thought the 3rd pairing was the worst pairing defensively tonight.

The top guys looked good and we were good on the forecheck tonight.

we kind of stopped playing in the last 2 minutes. But Woll stood on his head.

Everything looks great during a lengthy winning streak. Holl is a 6th/7th D on any NHL teams at best.
Eh I disagree. I think he is a perfectly fine player. I just think things are going so well and the fans need a whipping boy, Holl is that. He would find a home outside the organization immediately.

I fell asleep after the 4th goal again...it's something about the 4th goal I guess.

Great win and I'm glad its working out for woll, and honestly am not surprised about the goal scoring. We are too talented to let it drop, as said before rather play D and win, now we seem to have both :D

It’s not recent, he’s always been that player.
I don’t think anyone has ever said ‘he wouldn’t find a home outside the organization’. Many wish he would.

Team is rolling well now, Holl maybe the only glaring weakness.

IIRC the move that got this team turned around and playing better this year was removing Holl from the lineup and going with all of Dermott, Lilly, and Sandin, and they looked great doing it.
