Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 6-5 in OT, Wolls Lateral movement questioned!

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Since the 4N break the Matthews line has combined for 5 goals and 8 assists at ES (3G 6A 5on5) and a +9: the Tavares line has combined for 8 goals and 8 assists (5G 5A 5on5) and a +15.

What's our stacked top line then?
I get Willy looks like He could give more but I’d say the same for all our players and Willy playing with an old jt and holmberg with those stats are good

That interview and the Knies goal are rgiht around the same level of can only happen once in very unique circumstances.

Rick Bushwik level of concern on OD now countered by Knies level of no problem.

We've won a lot of games on the strength of our goaltending. Last night was almost one of those where our goaltending could have cost us the W. Not a great showing from Woller but we eked it out!

I watched the Knies again. Holy Christ that's bad. To think some wanted Dubas to bring Karlsson to the Leafs.

Check out the Karlsson thread in the polls section. I called him a disgrace to the defensive position, and right on cue, a Sens fan came in to stand up for his boy.

That game was so chaotic, but at least it was fun. Take the win and burn the tapes. Hopefully Domi getting a goal helps him. Crazy goal by Knies too. Not sure I've ever seen one that close to the buzzer.

@ClarkSitler, the biases that you accuse others of are really your own, and it has warped your perception of me, what has happened, and why. You only see a slant, because you have slanted yourself.

I didn't just say the 5 year window made the most sense. I justified why. You're free to use whatever timeframes you want, but I have heard no justification for changing it to go back 7 years. I didn't dismiss any injury comparison. I'm happy to discuss it. But if you're making the claim, it's not my responsibility to do all your work for you. I have been consistent in how I evaluate GMs, and how I weight things, and I provided examples.

I'm very aware of why a select few, not-so-independent people lash out at me, and it's not for the reasons you think. The echo chamber here is real, and the anger here is real. If you think my context leans in one direction, it's because this board leaves out so much more context in the other direction. You can complain about tone and energy and vibes, but expecting a fan to be equally enthusiastic about a GM that is improving their team and one that is making it worse is unrealistic. Whether or not you like somebody's tone does not determine objectivity. You can disagree with how I weight things, but my positions are consistent, driven by objective information, and extensively justified.

I did not say that I was the only one being fair. Quite the opposite; I said that there are other good posters here who try to take a balanced, objective approach and have respectful discussion. But there are also posters who take a very different approach, and going after me for imaginary vibes instead of those people actually doing all of the things you claim to be against speaks volumes.

Just heard Woll is sick but wanted to play anyway. Good on him but makes sense was he wasn’t as sharp as normal.

It was a bad pass. He is not as bad defensively as some say and he has his faults but if you read the Pens and mains he still has a lot of value.

He was even yesterday playing over 27 mins while his team gave up 6.

Glad Dubas didn't acquire him here but he is not the worst

Not going to win playing like they have the last 3 games against playoff teams.

Down 3-0 to Boston. Outshot something like 2-1 by Rangers. Give up 5 to Dubas.

Karlsson will go down as the worst defensemen to go in the Hall of Fame with 3 Norris trophies.

That was a preseason game with zero structure and zero defense .. tenders tend to look bad in those type of games .. we really miss Tanev .. it is crystal clear

Fun game.

Tavares isn't getting the credit he deserves right now. He won 11/16 face offs, continuing to be a machine on the dot. And his goal was a slick as they come.

I remember when we outshot the entire league and missed the playoffs...

Karlsson has always been an awful awful defenseman who could make up for it with speed and scoring, but now he's a shell of what he was and he's pretty much a complete liability.

Yeah hold on a second here....

Karlsson was the OG Cale Makar before that horrific achilles injury, possibly even better. To this day I am still not sure if I've ever seen a D with the lateral mobility Karlsson had pre-achilles injury.

I get it that he's a bit of a shell of what he was nowadays but uninjured Karlsson at his peak was legitimately incredible, there is no denying that.

Difference is the Rangers also outplayed the Leafs. Stolarz was the difference. Your memory is better than mine. Who did we have in goal those years?
