Special team is horrendous. Teams with bad special teams don’t make deep runs, as we all know.

With that said nice to get the W and give the jets their first L.

Giving the Jets their first loss and destroying any chance they had of breaking an NHL record for best start to a season is pretty sweet, so I'll take it.

Jets fans probably wish it was almost any other team than the Leafs that killed it. I'll take that too.

Well, they normally start off the year on fire and then go stone cold come the end of the season and playoffs. Maybe they are flipping the script this time around lol.

Of course the Leafs turn around and beat the best team in the league after blowing it in OT to BOS and laying an egg two games before.

I think the "best team in the league" stuff is a tad bit overblown. Has anyone looked at Winnipeg's schedule to start the season? It wasn't exactly a murderer's row. It's the same team that got embarrassed by Colorado in the first round last season.

They've been doing only special teams work for the past week, if not longer at this point.

I think the PP looked fine to be honest, especially the first PP. They had 5-6 shots? Could have easily scored there. They only got 2 PPs so it's hard to completely take a dump on them for today.
PP looked good. PK and the 6on5 defence wasn't great tbh. Cross ice passes were just too easy for them on like 2 or 3 of their goals.

 Benoit was awful like he has has been all season. Maybe make a change IDK
It's funny because that happens whenever Lili is in the lineup and those same people say nothing.

Leafs score 6 and even Timmins can be on a winning team.
I hated Timmins as much as everyone else but what has he been doing wrong this season that people are still complaining? He's been fine in his role and hasn't been making the same dumb mistakes over and over again like last year. Are people this upset over Liljegren sitting who isn't anything special?

Looks like Berube cut back on Marner and Matthews minutes tonight.

not sure with Marner he was used a lot on the PK the PP and 5on5

Marner leads forwards with 21:22

leads Even Strength with 16:08
leads Short Handed with Matthews at 3:00

Edit:

Matthews 2nd in TOI @ 19:32

7th in ES TOI

Marner @16:08
Nylander @ 15:23
Tavares @ 15:17
McMann @ 14:38
Knies @ 14:37
Domi @ 14:36

Matthews @ 14:19

Wow It looks like Berube is just like Keefe and Babcock with Trusting Marner is every situation

A win is a win. Would much rather be 8-1 than 5-4-1
