Sometimes team management is inept and can't put the right elements together to win it all.

In the long run though it is always about money, the Rags, Leafs and Flyers are all rolling in it and don't get help from the league ever.

As far as the Hawks are concerned they've made scads of money in the last 30 years, but they'll be paying penance for the next little while for the sexual antics they allowed in their system and covering it up.

Penalty calls that kill momentum are a great way to control the Ws, who gets them and when. Something as dumb as a professional referee so out of position that it disrupts a cycle and helps to kill a goal scoring chance. Part of referee school is teaching those guys to stay out of the way of the play and yet guys in the NHL just happen to do just that. The way a puck gets dropped can often determine who wins a face off and therefore possession.

It's still up to the players to take advantage of those little breaks they receive from time to time, if they don't, they don't, if they do, they do.

Kadris gets a series suspension. And we defend a 5 minute PP. Other players get 1 game with more heinous hits.

We get a goal called back by a weak pick by Holl game 7.

No goal call back with a way more egregious pick and a way worse high stick on a leaf.


God forbid any other team gets disrupted by officials…
