again the worst line. im glad JT and WN get their PP cookies but the 5 on 5 play has been complete dogshit.

if they are going to keep that experiment all year the need to find a better LW.

man murray is amazing. i can definitly see why mangement eyed this guy hen letting campbell go in the offseason. I have no hope he stays healthy all year but so far so good.

He's been fairly decent the last half dozen games or so. I know he's the default whipping boy/scapegoat after a loss (and sometimes even after a win) but he's really holding his own out there. He looks much more like 2 years ago Holl; nothing to write home about, but effective enough in the 6th spot.

buffalo isn't the greatest but it's always satisfying to beat them. even when they are crap they still manage to regularly beat us or at least make it close.

The Leafs play exactly like that. The problem is the opposition cant be as bad as Buff is right now. Even TBs poor effort games last year weren’t even close to that.

I thought the Leafs played a very good game. They didn't give much to the Sabres in terms of scoring chances 5 on 5.

I don't know if "on the bright side" is appropriate here but he seems to inflict most of the damage on himself making stretch saves recently.

I had to watch this one on a delay. Points in 9 of 10!

Decent effort overall. Murray was excellent again. I like that trend.
We are flimsy in our own end... giving up too many good looks for my liking.
JT's line looked good; Nylander was excellent, Kerfoot doing what he does (not scoring lol).
Marner was pretty quiet generally, and that is not a bad thing from time to time.
I think the team needs more from Matthews to be honest. He is in good spots, but not handling the puck clean on passes or shot attempts.
Benn is a poor mans Muzzin imo. If all he ever does is what he is going, we are golden.

Buffalo is baaaad. Quite interesting to watch the extreme opposites in NJ and BUF back to back.

So funny watching guys like Engvall and Jarnkrok "feelin' it": dangling, powering to the net, off balance slap shots, etc. You know BUF is bad when.

I hope the Leafs learn from this. What put Buffalo on their heels was the combo of skill and a lot of shooting the puck. Yeah they made plays, and passed, but the shooting from everywhere made it so hard for BUF to defend.

Would have been 6-2 if nylander would have passed in the end... he tried the hatrick, some players would have passed. But good game by us, we gotta get tougher still. But a nice win with solid structure.

Nylander looks the most impressive this year. Drives the net, making shots, gets the puck in the gray areas and he seems to have the quickest wheels this season. I feel hes finally growing to his frame with the man strength... When was he bullied off the puck?

Murray is good. Comparing his saves and control to our previous goalies minus Samsanov...
It's really different having a real netminder. Freddy had his moments.

Marner is gaining confidence.

Matthews I feel is settling in playing 2 ways and using his body. Hope he finds his rhythm before the TDL.
We need his shot.

Jarnkrok, Bunting, Kampf... Energy guys reminiscent of Hyman crashing the boards.

Right here Mikeyg. Already we had to play 4th string. MMurray has won cups, and since has been injured .
When this happens again at game 60 or 70 and we have no tender for the playoff run, we can talk again. Samsanov, a guy that also is injured and Keefe would not play 2 games in a row weeks ago is not the answer. I pray it works out, but we may have shot ourselves in the foot, again.
