Hopefully this season takes on meaning beyond the regular season. The time is now. No more excuses or statements that "we are learning how to play the rifht way".

The players should crowd around Simmonds and Muzzin and take note of their attitude.

They were watching the scoreboard and turned up their effort after they noticed the Leafs didn't allow them to drop into the easier bracket. Hey, at least the Leafs kept a 4-1 lead against the Bruins. Maybe that can be the small victory this year.

this. Stammer said this much post game. I don't think Tampa fears Toronto, rather they know Carolina would be the smart play for the first round. Confident in this Leafs team, however I'm at odds with the fact they controlled their own destiny and could've handed themselves an easier opponent yet chose not to go that route. It becomes more obvious by the day that we don’t need Matthews on this team, and you can add Marner now too. Nylander goes beast mode without them and he’s a lower cap hit. We should seeeeeeeeriously consider moving them this off-season to recover prime assets and cap space……

Now the real season begins.
