Solid win. That is a tight checking, hard battling team and the Leafs stayed with them. Could have gone either way but the good guys won. Murray got away with pushing the net off three times in one game. I get where he's coming from: if they don't want the net popping off so easily, fix the nets. He's within his rights to nudge it. But he's going to get a penalty at a critical time if he keeps it up.

The one early in the third looked very deliberate. The others looked like the pegs just weren't drilled into the ice properly.

It’s amazing that people are focused and remember one bad play by Sandin, in a game he otherwise excelled in5v5. Third most D minutes and did well with it. Not really good enough on the PP though.

Gio and even Holl had really nice games, Lilly and Mete were quiet, but that’s not bad. Hollowell showed some nice passing.

Given who is out, good effort by them.

It's the Gardiner syndrome. He can dominate an entire game and make 1 mistake that people will blow up for days.

To be fair though, it was a terrible turn over.

Does everyone here apologize to Dubas now or is it too early ? Murray and Samsonov have both been phenomenal, Campbell walking was the best thing to happen this off-season.

Those "fans" are quite upset that our goalies are doing well and we're winning.

If this keeps up, all we might need is a 5-7 physical d man to add. Not perfect but they have more than held their own.

You still see the odd youthful mistake (like Sandin at the end of the game) but those two are growing into there new responsibilities

Sometimes guys sink when the blowtorch goes on but thankfully for us those two lads seem to be growing stronger

Murray doesn't seem like the type to have repeated mental breakdowns require him to take time off to stop beating himself up, as long as his body holds up his current stats seem pretty sustainable in the .910-920 range.

Comes with his cup experience. While he's obviously has dealt with physical pressures/injuries he clearly understands the mental part of the game

Turns out he just needed to get away from one of the worst NHL teams with the Sens to flourish again lol

Good win and all but
Sandin is starting to worrying me. He is a terrible skater, ok. He is weak along the boards, ok. All of these were covered by his elite hockey IQ and the way he thinks the game, yet he makes 3-4 boneheaded plays per game this year.

I dont know. Maybe it's just me but I dont think he is an NHL player right now. No skating, no physicality, no brain.

Like I said in the summer, it would be nice to see Murray play behind a team that can score some goals and isn't a wreck defensively. Not many goalies thrive when they know giving up 2 goals in a game is an automatic loss.
To be fair this team has had their fair share of defensive breakdowns, including a huge one in the dying seconds today and he held it down. He has been more than average, he's been great. I just hope he can continue to stay healthy and keep rolling, but can't give him enough praise.
