On a role and I think I like that we're needing to grind it out more this year

Murray needs to knock it off with the hitting the net off shit though he's going to get a rep and get penalized doing it by accident at the wrong time

Good games from Murray, Nylander, Marner.

The Leafs D by team committee seems to keep working well. This is exactly what they need to keep doing into the playoffs too.

I want to see Timmins in there for Hollowell, but otherwise it is looking pretty good. Hollowell hasn't been bad, per say, but he is not really playing any kind of hard minutes right now either. I think Mete-Timmins could chew up more minutes and they have more upside as a pairing.

Jarnkrok had arguably his best game, so maybe give him a stretch as the 2LW. That could mean Malgin draws in on the Holmberg line instead of Robertson, as the 3RW on a more offensive line. Maybe what he and Kerfoot need to convert more of their chances.

Simmonds made a few nice plays, including the one on the GWG, but even physically he is not much of a factor anymore and should only come in sparringly.

Other than the last play, Sandin-Liljegren were excellent too.

Leafs played surpingly well today considering it was a 2 pm game and gutted out a win Murray didn't have to make a ton of big saves but when he needed to make the big one.

He made the BIG one.

With a half decent power play, that game didn't have to be a nail biter.

Congrats to Matt Murray for beating his old goal tending teammate!

Huge game for Murr there. Made the B-way stop on the peeper as well as the massive robbery there at the end. Hell of an effort all things considered really. Our D is thinnnnnnnnn right now, and we are still well into the fight.

Really cannot ask for much more given all of the circumstances. Just a hell of a road win.

My god though, when Sandin stepped on that stick blade I almost gave up. Made me realize we really are 1 injury away from having a Vancouver Canucks level D-corps (or worse). Hopefully we can get Timmons up to speed here soon lol, at this rate we may need him.

get the fellas some beers for the plane, they earned it.

Lets finish off the good week with a big time W tmw night against the Pens

Missed the first 2 periods but happy to watch an exciting 3rd period.

How was Murray not a top 3 star? He was incredible. Cheating a lil bit yeah but w/e those saves were huge

Sandin and Liljegren may be our top D pairing sooner rather than later.

Matthews has lost his confidence, he's passing off the puck so quickly and I wish he'd just hold onto it and play keep away a bit more to make a play. He'll get his mojo back I'm sure but I've never seen him play so tentatively on offense.

Kerfoot with only 13:26 ice time, only Simmonds and Holmberg played less. Maybe Keefe is finally seeing what we're all seeing in that he's a useless $3.5m plug

climbing the standings

Murray really looking good. Huge save at the end. Those are exactly the saves you need. Let in 3 sure but made the save that matters. Not only that he didn't let in any softies.

Leafs playing a good team D. Funny they aren't scoring at will but they seem to be playing more of that playoff type hockey.

Leafs like November. Keep it going. Pitts tomorrow at 7pm. Cheers. Good W. Now back to my day time drinking.
