They arent playing Berubes game. Half of the time they weren't playing Keefe's either.

The team is a runaway train at the core. The core and it's players care more for personal accolades than team success and this was demonstrated with the Matthews quest for 70. Marner playing 30 mins in a game like 5 games before the POs started. Nylander for 100pts.

Look at Morgan. What is he even doing on the ice? This is the least accountable team I have ever seen in my life and people wonder why fans that want to win freak out.

6 decades of failure.
In a previous thread I called Shanahan results-proof. The lack of accountability seems like it’s organization wide… (unless you’re a coach).

Rielly has been pretty rough this season, Matthews has been injured and struggling at times but fighting through it, Nylander has been Nylander scoring well and disappearing on D and Marner and Tavares have been the teams MVPs along with goaltending and Tanev.

It can't be all the core all the time though.

Berubes system is his system. The added 8 million worth of retained players to bolster the lineup. Exactly the type of players many around here wanted. 5 million dollar big shutdown D and 3 million dollar gritty 3C. Also consider McCabe is still being retained as well.

Let them gel down the stretch and let's hope it all comes together. This has nothing to do with cap, especially considering we are getting spectacualrly good goaltending on the cheap.

This was after a team meeting. Perhaps they just aren't coachable.
They do this stuff all the time. Go hot for a couple week, get cold immediately after, have team meetings that do nothing. This is nothing new. I expect that now that the roadtrip is over and they finished it with a win (barely), they can go on another 3 or 4 game winning streak before losing another 3 straight again

Thursday vs Florida is a big game. Tkachuk, Marchand and Ekblad out. No excuses but they may not have any legs after returning from this road trip. Better goalie probably wins this game.

Bobrovsky on a 4 game win streak with 2 shutouts so....due for a loss maybe?

Feb - Mar has a brutal travel schedule for the buds.

The western Canadian trip, this current trip that’s ending, and then the pacific coast trip. Plus in April they end the season with 4 in 6 on the road.

Can be a weary thing. They need to be better though.

Finally a nice 4 game home stand to hopefully re-energize the group. They need it. After this upcoming home stand they finish the season with 9 of 14 games on the road

just go and rob his collection of gucci bags and that'll get him up

probs brings out a conn smythe level run from him lol
He just had 18 points in 12 games before last night. While looking underwhelming. Just do that in the playoffs and they should have some success.

He was fine all game. For what reason would he be emotionally rattled?
He played great the day all stuff went public, but let’s just forget he rose to the pressure there and try to make another tortured narrative. Let’s just ignore it. The intellectual dishonesty required to form some of these opinions is laughable.

He’s not a big player but Carcone looked good last night for Utah
Another Kyle throw in

Anyone else concerned with the burn out of OEL? He’s looking pretty spent, when Tanev returns it might be a good idea to give OEL a rest if there’s any hope of him being effective come playoff time……

Woll played a good game after a few iffy ones. None of the goals were his fault and he played between the posts more.

Rielly and OEL with rough games (no surprise for Rielly, but OEL may be tiring).

I didn't like our game in any of the three periods. The goals and shots on goal made it look like we played ok in the first. Utah made us look slow. They were on our defencemen quickly and we had little answer. A big part of our problem has been zone coverage, particularly from our forwards.

Mitch had quite a few head scratching giveaways, but in the end, sealed it with a pretty SO goal. At least Matthews looked better in the third but I've never seen him miss the net on so many shots and mishandle pucks.

Beat Florida on Thursday and we're tied for first again, without having played good hockey for the past month and a half.

Edit: Nevermind, Florida plays Boston tonight. Should be a win for them.
