Besides another step for the Division title, it’s important to stay ahead of Carolina in case the Leafs go on a run and meet then in the Conference Finals.

Toronto won the season series against Carolina this season with a winning record of 2-1-0 but they have the first tiebreaker on the Leafs as they still have more regulation wins than Toronto. However the Leafs have more ROW than the Hurricanes. Our team has also more points than them in the standings, and they can’t catch toronto as they can only max out to 103 points and the leafs already have 104 in the bank.

Toronto currently holds all these tiebreakers over Carolina

Yeah pretty weird, though I kinda get it. Back to back for the Leafs on the road with a short turnaround against a team they historically struggle with in a building they historically struggle in. I personally thought it would be a letdown low energy game after an emotional win over a big rival.

I guess we will have to wait until next game (against the Sabres ironically )to officially clinch the division title as the Sabres are losing 5-2 in Tampa after two periods. Bad news but at least our Leafs won both weekend games. They’ve done their part.

I like that Berube kept the stars' ice time relatively low tonight.

I have been saying this for a while, Domi should move permanently to wing. Great puck handler, great passer and playmaker, and loves to play on the perimeter setting people up. Amazing when he has people he can feed who can score.
