It will be a hard season when every team you play will have someone gunning for you.
That's the way he wants it.
You can't play his game it will take you of yours .
When you get your chance take a bite out if him ..
Campbell may get a free pass next time he plays Calgary
Tkachuk in the crease a quick chop to the back his knee.

Lol at Kelly. Keefe was clearly yelling at the refs.

Wish the camera was on him when Nylander got 2 handed across the mitts sending his stick flying and then tackled to take away, not just a scoring chance, but a sure goal with no call.

To make that late game call on Hyman and ignore maybe the most obvious penalty of the game drives me nuts.....and then our "non homer" broadcast doesnt even show a replay.....they figured its better to muse about icing rules.

What a crapshow at the end there.

Campbell won’t do that.
Soupy is the type of guy that if he lost the Stanley Cup he would smile and give the other team a round of applause.

Was a little nervous that the Leafs have to play a 'good' team every night in this division, but they're clearly separating themselves from the pack. Should be fun to watch them beat my most hated teams on most nights.

To me this is the best thing for this team .
Every game means something , it's like a season playoffs.
Eyes always on you.

It's a good sign that this team is winning games despite the offense being cold at 5 on 5. Once we're healthy and things start clicking we should start to run away with this.

Habs and Flames and Jets are all pretty good ... can't see anyone running away with this division ... i could see Oilers and Sens getting lapped pretty hard though

Habs are playing well but have no elite players and also have a 103 PDO. That's bound to drop as the season goes on. The Jets defense is horrendous and they have no PLD for two weeks while he's in quarantine. The only team I expect to be anywhere near us is Calgary.

I don't really disagree overall. I will say Montreal's play so far is unsustainable though.
Habs have BY FAR best defense and goalers in division so lots expecting them to take it ... and they have a very fast forward group with an added power game this year ... I think it will be us or them for 1st place

Goals Against Per Game

TOR: 2.71
MTL: 2.83

Last year:

MTL: 3.10
TOR: 3.17

why does everyone keep saying the habs have great defense?

they have Chiarot and Edmundson in their top 4.

Calling the Montreal D the by far best is highly debatable. Goaltenders less so as long as Carey Price remains playing as vintage Carey Price. A number of their forwards are overrated or really still not yet established, but I think they'll be in the mix for top spot with us as well. This said, I still stand by what I said about their play being unsustainable. Their goals for right now is almost 5 goals a game.

Thank you. Chiarot and Edmundson being in your top 4 is bad. Their D core in general is slow and lacks puck moving ability outside of Petry.

Our Leafs have too many soft puck movers ... Habs play a power game and control walls and net front ... Chiarot and Edmundson would both be in our top 5 ... all we have is Muzzy

Best 6 overall would be 1. Rielly Weber 2. Muzzy Petry 3. Chiarot Edmundson with Brodie as da 7th man subbing in against weaker softer teams

You think if we combined teams that Chiarot and Edmundson would be in the line-up over Brodie? You seem to value size and physicality a bit too much. This tea doesn't actually have too many soft puck movers. None of Dermott, Muzzin, Bogosian can be considered soft at all and Brodie seems at least willing to engage physically.

And it's not like Price has been amazing since 16-17. Wouldn't shock me if he finishes as the 4th best goalie in the division, behind Hell, Markstrom, and Andersen.

Having said that, Julien has his team playing some fundamentally sound hockey. I like their overall game more than Calgary and the depth is way better.

Edmundson and Chiarot over Brodie is a laughably bad take

Also. Funny enough, the habs didn't do pretty much any of what you said when we played them. They generated most all their chances off the rush while we had the better sustained zone pressure.

Chiarot and Edmundson would be in tough to push Dermott and Bogosian out of the lineup.

Bogo i like him but he is too slow for today's game but will help us in da playoffs
Dermy is still a kid learning da ropes
Muzzy is da real deal he can play in my top 4 on any team he is on
Brodie looks real slow to me but it is early and I am gonna delay judgement for another week or so (he does have a tricky stick which I have started to see)
In playoff hockey where game is played for real Muzzy is only guy I trust on our backend right now

Bogo is faster than chiarot and edmundson.

Bigger, too.
Now I know you have zero idea about skill level. You do realize Joel won Habs faster skater for their defenders. and Ben came 2nd. Romanov 3rd. Now all 3 of those guys would lose a foot race to either Rielly or Dermy sure. But hockey is a lot more than a pure foot race for defenders.

Bogo is a full ice race would be right there with Weber for last place ... and those 2 guys would be last by themselves
