Hey, I can respect that opinion but what is maddening is "fans" coming in after wins and really making things toxic in here. We all want the team to win in the playoffs but if some posters only contributions is to spam about losing in the past, I really dont respect what they have to say. They literally add nothing to the forum with their rage and 80 IQ takes. I'm certainly not saying thats you but there are more than a few characters around here that are so invested in a losing narrative they've become total losers themselves.

That's all true. I have to say though that just as annoying are the ones who disappear when things are going bad, but when we're on a roll they're in every thread, constantly bragging about how elite we are, carpet bombing us with fancy stats and acting as if our playoff failures are irrelevant.

I have. The insistence that the term 'last 5 years' is used to describe the lack of wins we were expected to achieve the last two years. Washington, Boston and to a lesser extent the second Boston series we were not expected to win. We were young, inexperienced, and going up against demonstrably better teams (again, the second Boston series less so). Be mad about the last 2 years when we were expected, and should have, won.

Mostly true, but allow me to nitpick a little bit. Saying we were not expected to win against Boston isn't the way I would look at it. We were slight underdogs both times but "slight" is the key word there - it would not have been the least bit surprising for us to win either series, that's what I would say.

Anyhow, as I've said many times, I will judge this team about 90% based on how they do in the playoffs. That said, that 10% regular part is very enjoyable so far, I barely even remember what it felt like when we got toasted by PIT/CAR. :)

A shout out to y'all who predicted the Leafs would be fighting for a playoff spot this season. I mean there's a long way to go and you could still turn out to be right but ... I doubt it. :DD

Looking forward to the next one. GLG!!

It's a good team. We will win plenty of games, maybe win the division, and possibly the President's Cup. We will have good streaks like this one, and bad ones like at the start of the year. That's just sports. Don't get too excited about our success, don't get too down about our struggles. Cheer the team on, and hope with all hopes that we finally have playoff success this year.

While I agree with re-signing Campbell and Kase (if healthy), simply trading away 20% of the roster to do it doesn't seem like the way to do it. One or two, sure, can be replaced with ELCs but I think your answer seems more NHL22 than reality lol.

Sandin and Lilly re-sign them both for 1 yr. @ 1.5 mil
Rubina or Kral for emergency call ups
Replace Dermott and holl

Steeves from what i have seen he brings as much as ritchie brings and more
Replaces Ritchie

Ho-Sang 1 yr. @ 1 mil
Mik. and Engvall is replaceable

Re-sign Campbell 5 yrs. @ 4.5

There are times I don't post as much when things aren't going well... much of this past summer... the negativity is pretty intolerable at times. Then again.. I didn't end up with 12k + posts sitting on the sidelines too much.

Not sure some posters realize how dreadful and unenjoyable and just plain stupid they make this place most of the time.

Wading through all the ridiculous embarrassing BS here this summer was a chore, not a fun passtime.

Yeah this place can be hard to tolerate at times, no doubt about it. Putting the most annoying ones on ignore helps, not much else you can do.

I'm here no matter how things are going but that's probably because I mostly post when I'm working, and I work in spurts so when I'm taking a break, I gotta kill time somehow. It's a lot more fun when things are going well though. :)

Pot meet kettle. Wading through the constant excuses, "we're better than we've shown stats', expected wins, "but they're young stars" , "we barely lost to the eventual cup finalist" and defending every move Dubas makes, ever play marner makes - has made this place unenjoyable. It's the same few posters who never change their mind, never steer away from their opinions. The Leafs could lose for the next 3 years and we'd hear the same excuses. Apparently it's being "entitled" to expect more than what the Leafs have accomplished. Everyone else is to these posters, are just being negative if they aren't on the regular season success bandwagon and Dubas/Mitch love-in. This team is elite despite the playoff results!

It doesn't matter whether it's the people that think Dubas is a complete moron or the people who think he's gods gift to the Maple Leafs, people that see things in those black and white extremes and make 100 angry posts every day are the worst.

True there's posters on both sides but those (and there are many now) who aren't satisfied with winning streaks in the regular season, expected wins, or our "elite" stars regular season stats...... playoff results (not expected, not "we barely lost") - actual fricken playoff rounds wins is what matters. Like I said for others, the excuses will never stop no matter how long they keep losing

One thing we seem to seeing more of lately is overall effort. The most infuriating thing as a fan is knowing that it could be a very good team, but seeing lackluster effort on some nights. Lately has been much better, and if this team is skating and hustling we are as good as any team in the league period. Refreshing!

I honestly think some of this comes from JT... can't remember where, but I remember before the season him saying something like "I'm going to be more vocal as a Captain" or something. That's all these boys need... positive reinforcement and a reminder to "give it" every game, and they could be very very good.

NGL, I thought Kase's leg was going to fly off when he blocked that puck, and that he was going to be on IR until such time he was able to be given a prosthetic that would allow him to play at his normal speed and skill.

I literally spelled out why I come here. It's my own fault I let having an account get me dragged into the posts here yes. But its still the best place online to get all the latest news and rumors in one spot.

You said you post daily so don't act like you understand the other side. Being logged out it's easy to not get involved or impacted.

I don't see what's hard about not getting involved - if you're just hear to read, then read. And if you find some people annoying it's also easy to put them on ignore.

As far as "impacted" goes, as I said before if you don't like the say this place "impacts" you then it's up to you decide whether or not to be here. But the ignore function should help you quite a bit, especially if you're here mostly for the news and so on.

Oh I get where you're coming from, believe me. Some of the most annoying posts are the ones bragging about how awesome we are based on regular season this or that numbers. I'm honestly embarrassed for those people, not sure what else there is to say. Being happy, sure I get that, I'm happy pretty much every time we win, or even when we play well in losing. But bragging ... wait until we do something in the playoffs before beating your chest FFS. Embarrassing.

I like the sound of that. :)

Why would you be embarrassed by the actions of somebody else you don't even know (or even care)?

I can understand a lot more how he got injured so much over the last couple years seeing him more closely this season. He plays a fearless game.

Kase has been a fantastic pick up and I hope the Leafs can find a way to retain his services for a few more seasons.

Thats true. You're a good man apologies for anything negative in the past. I'll use the ignore and enjoy the tweets and news.

Gives Leaf fans a bad name. Not that big a deal and every fan base has it's idiots but still ...

So you are embarrassed by the actions of someone you don't even know because of what someone else you don't even know will think about that someone you don't even know and by proxy associate you with?

That just makes me shrug my shoulders even more. They can take a long walk off a short pier.

No worries. I don't like using the ignore feature in principle but I can tell you I do have about 5 names on it and believe me when I say, my experience here is much more enjoyable for it. There are some really insightful posters here as well though, takes a while to get a feel for who's worth listening to but yeah, some of stuff posted here is more insightful than 99% of what you get from TO sports media (though you definitely have to sift through a lot of crap to find the gold).
