That was the most enjoyable period for me so far this season. Feels like last year's regular season team.

Took a couple years for Marner, Matthews, Nylander greed to drain this team of all its depth... now with Hyman the last shoe to drop they find they will have to work to win and not get it as easy as before.

Liked the Sandin <> Lilly pairing. Not perfect but definitely noticeable offensively. mobile. good to see. Dermott was invisible out there, probably exactly what you want from him playing with Rielly. No event hockey.

It's quite clear they are playing a low event style of hockey, or as some call it "playoff hockey" where things are tighter and what not.

It's a lot more boring... and I don't know if it will work.

But with that said, there's no chance they stay as the lowest shooting percentage team since the lockout or whatever. Matthews and Marner are not staying at below 5% shooting percentage either. We're bound to get games where the offwing shots will go in, or a bunch of deflections.
