Who do you want replacing Tippet. Please don't say Babcock.

That would be utterly amazing. Imagine you are Barrie and Hyman and you had to deal with him and left and now the Oilers Brass bring him in. Would destroy the franchise IMO. Do it!!

I don't think Hyman would have an issue with him... there was a reason he was called Babcock's son... Babcock loves Hyman types. Barrie on the other hand.....

Honestly, you guys don't have much to fear tonight. This is one of the worst stretches of hockey I've ever seen the Oilers play which is really saying something. We might not even make the playoffs... It's baffling!

The management has failed to built a good roster (again.) We need a young blooded coach and GM who are in touch with the modern NHL, not old fossils with no blood left in them. Won't surprise me if we lose 10-0 tonight. Guess it would be worth it if Tippett got fired the next morning. If your team can't beat my team without McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins well... I don't know what to tell you. lol
Thank for the Jinx.. On any given night it's possible for any team to win. Having said that I do think we win 4 to 0

Honestly don't understand why many Oiler fans are all calling for Ken Holland's head already. Yes he has some suspect signings (Barrie in particular) and some overpays (Hyman and Nurse) but at least those 2 are good and every GM has a couple overpays on their roster. Tippett I can understand, but I thought Holland would have a lot more time to mold the team to what he wants it to be, and he did get a relative bargain on that RNH deal

Beware of overconfidence in this game. Hard work is still necessary !!! Don't take them lightly !!!
This! exactly.

McDave might be out but doesnt mean the rest of the Toronto boys on their team dont show up even if limited amount of fans and have a game I dont like their odds if Kostyawins in net or Smith but still just something to think about.

the Oilers play like we did under Babs ...all offense and leave the goalie out on his own.
its strange how when goalies leave Edmonton they become much better Dubnyk went from awful to awesome, Talbot is back to what was expected from him when he went to the Oilers.
I have a feeling that for as bad as Koskinen may look in Edmonton, he'd be better on almost any other team.

Lots of us are angry because Ken Holland completely blew his chance to use a ton of cap in the off season effectively. I did like the Hyman and Ceci singning but the Nurse contract is just stupid. Nurse is a 7 million dollar defender. 9.25 million is a ludicrous cap hit. Don't even get me started on the Keith trade too. All the leverage in the world and we still got stuck paying his full salary.

Holland also rolled the dice by signing Mike Smith in hopes that he would magically continue to play amazing even though the guy is 40. It was a terrible bet and he should have traded for a better goalie. Now Smith is always hurt all the time and Koskinen is a 4.5 million dollar piece of Swiss cheese. Skinner will be good but he's still too young to be an NHL starter. The Bear / Foegele trade is looking really bad as well. We STILL can't get anything out of our bottom 6! This was the big chance to become a contender and that chance might be gone.

Sorry to derail your thread Leaf fans. I'll go away now.

They have Ceci and Barrie on D (nuff said), a washed up Duncan Keith and a very green (but potentially very good) Bouchard.

Our D was just as bad until we got Muzzin and Brodie, two vets who know how to play D.

I don't feel sorry for Oiler fans as generally they are very obnoxious towards Leaf fans, and usually they're happy so long as you don't compare anyone to McDavid or Draisaitl, but missing the playoffs this year would be a complete disaster for them :baghead:

I fully expect Oilers to have the game of their lives or Leafs to have their worse game of the season

Hyman never did anything in Toronto that’d warrant a tribute or standing ovation. I liked the person and his work ethic but let’s not get carried away

this might be one of those nights you take the dog, hard though to bet against Soupy.

Will Mitch finally come out of the ether, sure hope so it's about time he got his season going, struggling along at 0.84ppg is not his usual self.

Peter Mrazek might be the goaltender the Oilers are looking for, it would be nice for him to leave town with them and leave Derek Ryan or Slater Koekkoek behind, heck maybe even both of them. It would go along way to solving a problem that will be coming up soon.

It is age old issue to my friends from Oil city .. players don't want to live there .. so Oilers have to pay more plus extra TAX $$$ to get Nurse to stay in Edmonton .. as da kid has said to his TO friends if they paid me stupid $$$ I would stay otherwise I would leave .. but I feel for you guys as TO/other Cdn cities have issues related to extra AAV for TAX $$$ too .. but Edmonton has to deal with winters from hell which is a double wammy like da Peg too
