Too bad he has a 10 team NTC and no contender is going to take on a 2.4 x 4 for a bad 4C without us paying to dump him.
I think Kampf is a decent 4th liner. And is better then he has shown through the start of the season. However that contract was a head scratcher as soon as it was signed. $2.4x4 for a 4th liner never made sense.

He was a decent 4th liner, but right now he can’t win a faceoff, can’t shut anyone down, the PK is trash, and he has no offence. I’m sure he’ll get a bit better and might step it up in the playoffs again but he’s easily replaceable at half his cap hit.

The Leafs finally have a 3rd line that works, and now we have whining about the top line who are also mostly working with Knies?

:propeller
Yeah our forward lines are basically ideal now. The problem is a combination of bad goaltending and certain d man completely missing assignments with the odd player on forward giving up on a back check or not even being fast enough to defend properly.
The road record is extremely bad when Vancouver is the home team. The Leafs are actually doing ok against those guys at home.
Yup.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a record of 41-26-11-1 against the Canucks at home all-time.

They are likely going to make the playoffs....but they also aren't the team they have been to start the season. They might be a "unified team" but they are also a team playing unsustainably good right now. It will level off.
How many of their games have you watched

I am doubtful it changes much. I personally think it’s too easy/convenient to blame Reaves for Kampf’s poor play. It’s not Reaves fault Kampf is missing his defensive assignments and if he’s not being solid defensively out there he’s doing nothing at all for us.
Kampf is an abysmal 44 percent on the draw. Keefe still puts him out there for key draws and it's turned into a nightmare. Time to wake up, because if he can't win on the dot, we're pretty much left with a nothing contributor.

Parts of 3 or 4. I don't need to have professionally scouted everyone of their games though to look at their save percentage and team shooting percentage and say it is going to normalize....because it will.
Ok fair enough that is different than what you said

It is exactly what I said originally.
You said playing unsustainably good. Then said save % and shooting % will normalize

I see those things as different, a team can play very well and not get saves or put up 45 shots and no puck luck

Vancouver is getting puck luck and great goaltending but a lot of HOW they are playing is sustainable as they keep getting better defending and getting better at their systems

I just see a difference thats all

My dude, discuss this on your own forum. Nobody cares enough here.

Systems tend to look a lot better when you are getting .940 save percentage as a team. They won't for the entire season lol. They will safely make the playoffs but they will also regress to the mean at some point here.

Oh i agree.. i definitely dont see the goaltending doing this all year..

It just seems like their goaltending is giving them time to sort out the play - lucky. If they can keep improving defending and keep stuff out of the middle the save % could stay high

On the flip side its frustrating right now watching toronto as neither is working out to allow the other to work through itself (defending and goaltending). I would almost like to see them star giving up some offense to solidify their end for a bit to help their goalies and to fight through this bad patch

Curious to see if Kampf looks better away from Reaves because he has not been good...

That "injury" for Klingberg really healed quickly

That's why when asked why Klingon wasn't in the lineup last night, I said alledged injury. I never for a second believed he had any injury that extended from beyond between his ears.

I think they've had a soft schedule and won't end up the season as good as they currently are.

Yeah, I'm going to wsit until February before I start thinking they're for real. That said, they could end up being this year's version of last year's New Jersey.
