Idk Demko is playing and that dude is a baller. I hope so, but I don’t see us scoring at will
Demko vs this years Sammy could get ugly. We have seen his A game a couple of times this year so maybe he is due. Its kind of feast or famine with him and usually famine since the Tampa series.

Matthews is tied for 2nd in ESP
Marner tied for 19th in ESP

What are you talking about?

Top 20 players for EV strength production given "cap hit"why? because it freakin' matters!!! I don't care if McDavid and Drai are not on the list; not my team don't give a flying F before you try to spin it.

Marner has been dragging Matthews down and Keefe refuses to see this

But the second and third line are producing well, so why break them up? Or are you suggesting that Marner should be 4th line?

three 11 AAV players should play on three different lines and running their own lines creating match-up problems for opposition.

As far as I am cocnerd its a "TEAM" game; if Marner is not playing he should be put on the 4th line. ACCOUNTABILITY should be a thing for a team that wants to achieve success.

Idk if I'd do it now but switching Jarnkrok and Marner might not be a bad idea if it ever came to breaking that 1st line up.

he Toronto Maple Leafs recalled forward Bobby McMann from the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the team announced Saturday, while also announcing the return of defenceman John Klingberg to the lineup.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that McMann would slot into the lineup in place of fourth-line winger Ryan Reaves, who has struggled so far in his first season with the Maple Leafs. His on-ice goal differential is -11, according to MoneyPuck.com, despite only having a team-last 12.2 per cent of a share of possible ice time. He has yet to pick up a point.

Klingberg has also had a difficult start in Toronto, since joining the club in the off-season, and did not play in Friday's win against Calgary. Simon Benoit will make way for Klingberg in the lineup.

In a corresponding move, the Maple Leafs loaned forward Pontus Holmberg back to the Marlies.

McMann, 27, made his NHL debut last season. He played in 10 games for the Maple Leafs, picking up one assist.

In six games with the Marlies this season, McMann has two goals and one assist.

You can watch the Maple Leafs take on the red-hot Vancouver Canucks on Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.

I’m glad they’re going with a Marlies call up to replace Reaves. That’s a good thing. But Steeves must be wondering what he needs to do on the Marlies to get the call up (13 points in 11 games for Steeves as opposed to 3 points in 6 games for McMann). I guess they see McMann as a better fit than Steeves for the 4th line? But I still think it’s a bit strange, McMann has been hampered with injuries to start this year.

Baby steps with no Reaves and no Klingberg. One at a time adds interest to the game, they would be a guarantee to win tonight without both, but you leave one in and things get real interesting. Some savvy coaching from Keefe here. You don't want an easy 2 in November.

Canucks are frauds. Leafs will expose them tonight.

I watched a few of their games this year and I can confirm, they are not frauds, not frauds at all. Hughes has taken his game to the next level and is actually defending much better. Demko looks like he's in vezina form, they look like an actual team with chemistry. When the Horvat situation was going on you could tell their team was split, they all look unified out there. I think they're the real deal.

Petterson has been decent but Hughes, Demko, Boeser have been nuts. Obviously they destroyed some bad teams in San Jose and Edmonton but they look legit.

Feels like the top 9 mix is close to, if not good now. So if Tre can just focus in on adding a couple D, and fixing the non Gregor two thirds of the 4th line then I think we will stabilize things.

I agree, looking at this lineup the holes are obvious and don’t even seem that big

I need this idea explained better to me in regard to ice time.

How would having matthews, Tavares and Marner all on separate lines work out for ice time?

Would it split evenly? Would Matthews get more ice time than Marner? Would that mean a burtuzzi or domi or kampf get more ice time than Marner or Nylander?

I don’t understand why we wouldn’t put the players we want to play the most together and give them the most ice time?

This idea sounds like something that would lower some players ice time that we want on the ice more and raise ice time for players we do not want on the ice as much

I think they've had a soft schedule and won't end up the season as good as they currently are.

Reaves was a -2 in about 4 minutes last game, enough is enough already. Big fan of McMann on the Marlies and he's gotta keep the same energy level every single shift as he does when he's really flying.

Keefe is such a f***ing moron. Don’t put Klingberg back in FFS. Inches away from an optimal lineup by removing Reaves but he has to thin it by bringing back Klingberg.
