Series Talk: Leafs vs Lightning Pre-Playoff Thread

Seems like we’ve been waiting since November. Regular season was a necessary distraction, but the trade deadline really impressed me. Getting ROR is key. I don’t even think we have seen him at his most intense. He’s a playoff monster. Adding McCabe is looking like a great add. He’s never played in playoffs, but it’s his everyday game, these guys along with Schenn, Acciari and Lafferty have given us that grit and edge we’ve been missing. Confident in Samsonov, he’s had a bit of a break to get healthy for Tuesday.

How many games have we played with the full lineup? Everyone is gelling at the right time. Feels good.

It’s up to the core and Keefe to make this year work.

As an Isles fan who has seen more than my share of the TBL, if you guys stay out of the box and don't give Ducherov a lot of room, or let Point get his breakaway goals at inopportune times, you should be able to beat an aging TBL team that no longer has their best defenseman (McDonagh).

This is a very good team capable of beating Tampa but they still suffer from the same issue: they can be had if they lose focus. You can’t have 1 good game, 1 bad game and then it’s suddenly game 7. No. Focus on playing each game hard and smart.

There's no winning for us around these no parts. You're completely right.

I do find it interesting that a lot of neutral fans are picking us to win, though. Didn't have that last year.

Seeing and reading how vocal o'rielly is and how bad he seems to want to bring a cup home gives me a good feeling that we will have that killer instinct in a game 7 and better yet in every elimination game.
