You guys brought up a lot of memories fot me here. That team dragged you in emotionally and scrapped for everything..

I dont remember the year but the teams that beat ottawa with guys blocking shot after shot after shot after shot and hobbling around.. the emotion with tucker and corson and mccabe etc...

Funny enough burns and quinn coached

I dont know what our top guys draw on inspiration from these days.. it would be interesting to hear.. what makes them 'want' it

People can go on about tanpa stumbling and games bot mattering all they want.. it is so empty. Tampa is a boogeyman until they arent. With them wounded a bit they are coming into this playoff with a war mentality.. whether or not they are not as deep is irrelevant - it doesnt take much in my opinion for a team like tanpa to draw motivation.. one matthews laugh off or one stupid marner celly could set it off

They need to leve everything on the line but lets hope they know how to. A weaker tampa blueline isnt going to be that much weaker if you dont bombard the top guys and make them feel it

I've had a reoccurring dream that Kucherov is going to have a monster series, Vas was pretty poor by his standards, Hedman was invisible. I remember thinking the entire Leafs team played well enough to win but it was Kucherov that went McDavid in the series. I remember from the dream the series was a war, very dirty and rough. The Bolts were getting away with murder and the Leafs were sheepishly fighting back.

Tampa is clearly not as good as their team the last 3 years but I also think the Leafs are not as good as they have been the last 2 years.

I think its a moot point who wins this series, no one is getting past NYR or Boston that is going to be the East finals. I think NYR wins the cup. Great underrated coach in Gallant. Veznia goalie in Shishterken. Norris dman in Fox. Kane, Panarin, Zibinjad, Kreider, Chytil, Tarasenko.

Vas looked really shitty vs NYR last night, he let in two weak goals blocker side low, seems like they were picking on that area.

I keep wondering if the number of games the Bolts have played over the last 3 years is going to eventually come into play. There is no team that has played as many games over the last 3 years as the Bolts. Is apathy or exhaustion going to come into play?

No such thing as a tie anymore. Every NHL game is played to a win or a loss. They just happen to award a participation point to the loser.
They get points for being tied after 3 periods. They play tie breakers to win. There are no points added for losing. Teams secure a point after regulation. The tie breakers are a 3 on 3 sudden death overtime. If there is no score, the tie breaker is the shootout.

I don't get the fear if the NYR. Just the rangers trying to buy a championship as usual and the team is nothing special they lose to Boston, Toronto, maybe even TB.

The Leafs get into scrums... if the refs call it like last year, that is probably a 3 game suspension......

Sounds like they are looking really good... did they win tonight?

Not how you evaluate teams by who won or lost. To me, I saw like I said a strong skater group let down by goaltending. Should be familiar to Leaf fans. If Vasi plays well I don't think we beat them how we have been playing.

My main worry was how hard they defended their net front and all the scrums and after whistle wacks. Followed very closely by their lethal counter attack. So many odd man rushes last night Shesterkin had some nice saves I wondered if our goalies would have saved.

Oh and their PP looks better than ours has the past few weeks

They were on the brink of elimination in the next game with minutes to go until they were saved by a phantom extended 5 on 3.

So it was bad luck and Leafs deserved to win? 'It happens to everbody'... more often to fools though. How many more lost series do you need to start thinking process?

I see Leafs as a group of bad workers. Most of them hate their job and are lazy. In the playoffs some of them start pretending to work, some start running around trying to do something. But that is not a good hard working team.

I don't think you've seen the games and you're a troll. Most of their losses against Boston and Tampa Bay have gone 7 games and you don't go that far "pretending to work". Please leave the Leafs forum.

You have a very appropriate username, ICBM, because I see a BM (bowel movement) with this post.

I can't picture our guys doing what Tampa did yesterday. Attacking the players that were getting jumped in front of the net.

The Leafs were the better team in the series, but that's besides the point. You attempted to makes these claims about Tampa being this dominant team in game 6 that refused to be denied after game 5, but what actually happened in game 6 is the Leafs had them dead in the water, and the Lightning looked defeated, and then they got two phantom calls creating an extended 5 on 3 and a gift-wrapped game-tying goal with minutes left in the game.

We all already believed you when you said you didn't watch. There was no need to provide even more evidence of that.

We have been dominating games for the last little bit while not being full-strength.

Who cares about scrums after the whistles? It should take two teams to be involved or some penalties should be handed out.

Not sure that chart will look much different.

They got tougher and worse this year, we got tougher and better.

PP/PK is similar for both teams.

That's pretty where'd you get that

In the simplest terms

We went to 7 last year

We got much better this year

Tampa got worse this year

I'm pretty confident about our chances against them this year.

Anyone watching their game? Vasy has looked like a sieve but the skaters are dialed in. Physical as hell, 3 fights so far tonight through almost 2. Super dangerous offensively and on the PP.

This won't be easy

Would the Leafs react like this if that was Sammy?

Meh, they're dirty they're not tough. Paul got absolutely laid the f*** out and Colton tackles the NY player from behind.

I said Leafs in 6 and I stand by it.

We cannot keep losing in the first round every year. I believe that the boys are hungry AF for a win. Tampa is still scary and can turn it on, but they have really been struggling as of late, and their defence is quite bad this year.

Has to be this year. I know we say it every year, but this one is truly now or never. They are vulnerable. We finish them. I truly believe again. Ready to get Hurt.

GLG!

Eliminate them on their home ice?
That would be great.

Just don't get goalied.

Lightning are not the same defensively. They will definitely push you to higher limits, but it will be hard for them to contain our offence.

It will be a nasty war .. Bolts are not gonna roll over .. offense will dry up as usual .. refs will put whistle way .. and da team who can play 3 periods straight of grinder hockey will win .. tending and D decide these series and when I look at these 2 teams it is awful close .. our G probably does not match up to their G .. i think we have 2 D who can't play error free grind it out textbook hockey and Tampa has 3 D who have same issue so we should have a slight D advantage .. it will come down to X factors like home ice and ROR and maybe Murray comes in a shuts da door too .. i think we will take it in 7 but it is a nail bitter series which is close to pick em

Refs will put the whistles away until Tampa needs a 5 on 3 late in game 6 down by a goal.

Agreed completely they are dirty which is what I meant. Maroon got fed his lunch by their #7 dman who didn't even want to fight and was laughing the whole time. Perry also got laid out.

But I noticed they weren't shy about sticks going into groins, sweeping feet out, little shots when the refs weren't looking, "accidently" bumping players after the puck is gone and/or after whistles. I guess I just haven't seen the Leafs fight through that consistently.

Not that I don't think they can. We're a dangerous team as well just Tampa has won cups and stuff so it scares me haha

Sounds like last years Kerfoot imaginary call again .. i hope that reffing does not decide this series .. it is a shame when refs decide a series
