Time for the Leafs to grow up or be broken up. If we lose, just broken up. NOT blown up. I'm pretty sure most here believe the Leafs are probably one of the five best teams in hockey. Unfortunately three of those top five are in the Atlantic. It's always a steel cage match. When we played the Habs, we GAGGED. Against the Blue Jackets 50% gag 50% covid. Still embarrassing. Time to man up or break up.

Anyone watching their game? Vasy has looked like a sieve but the skaters are dialed in. Physical as hell, 3 fights so far tonight through almost 2. Super dangerous offensively and on the PP.

This won't be easy

Would the Leafs react like this if that was Sammy?

Yup fun game.
Tb are dirty though. The stick to shesterkins groin was late and bad.
Watching this game is exactly why we need Schenn and McCabe

Jarnkrok Matthews Nylander
Tavares O'Reilly Marner
Bunting Acciari Lafferty
Knies/RAR Kampf Kerfoot

McCabe Brodie
Gio Holl
Rielly Schenn

Samsonov
Woll

or

Jarnkrok Matthews Nylander
Tavares O'Reilly Marner
Acciari Kampf Lafferty
Bunting Kerfoot Knies/RAR
I like these lines and the only thing I think might be different is ZAR has shown he deserves to be in. At least for game 1.

I am having a hard time trying to figure out where Knies might slide in.

Possibly instead of Lafferty? Kerfoot I think they love his versatility so I doubt it's him.

Keefe was praising ZAR being able to chip in without sacrificing his defensive game so I doubt it's him

How will the refs react.... right.. they won't.

Then if Leafs retaliate were f***ed.... good times.

it has to be Lafferty. He might be the worst forward I've seen on the Leafs in a long time.

Watching that Tanner Jeanott it looks like Nashville fleeced the TBL, he has looked like total dog shit since he came to Tampa, I mean even his physicality is completely overrated, guy looks like a 4th line scrub

Judgement of that trade really hinges on how Tampa does against us I feel. If it were any other team making that trade they’d be called out for how bad it is, but Tampa has had magic with bottom sixers who they’ve paid a high price for so everyone is hesitant to criticize. Even if they lost in the second round to Boston no one would fault them still because Boston is having a historic season.

A lot of narratives will be flipped if Toronto can manage 4 wins in one series for the first time in 19 years. And hopefully Tanner continues to be ineffective against us too.

Tampa starts a brawl in almost every game they play. This team turned into the 2005-2012 Anaheim Ducks

If Leafs are smart it could be a quicker series.

Tampa has truly been an awful team on the road this year

Leafs need to make sure that carries over to the playoffs and take the first two games. No split.
That's what I'm hoping. Game over if they do that.

And just a side note... yes I chirp the Leafs all the time and the refs and plenty pisses me off and even though Leafs have f***ed up many years and gone no where in the playoffs... I'm still going to get hyped and hope for the best... what real Leaf fan doesn't?

Let's f***ing go Leafers

Keefe better keep with mouth shut this time around. Last year he blabbed before the series that it was going to be a “violent” series.

The refs took that literally and called it as such.

* for half the series

The Leafs get into scrums... if the refs call it like last year, that is probably a 3 game suspension......

Sounds like they are looking really good... did they win tonight?

Think we’ve only done this 3 times in this Matthews era.

Won 2 straight vs the caps
2 straight vs the bruins first match up
2 straight vs the Habs

Winning the first 2 is crucial, you don't want to give Tampa any momentum, especially Vasi.

Take 2 in Toronto, split in TB and you have a chance to close it out in 5. Our best bet is to strike early and not let the series go long

"-Man Tampa pisses me right off. They have so many clowns on that team. Good to see them get dummied.
-Corey Perry is well on his way to Milan Lucic levels of uselessness.
-Glad Cirelli got hurt. Tampa didn't deserve to skate off healthy and clean after the way they played. Wouldn'tve minded if Colton got smoked in the face while lying on the ice either, and at least the refs called the instigator there. Tired of clean hits leading to fights especially when the targeted player isn't even hurt and gets right back up. Good hit by Schneider."

This was from the Rangers board. Tampa is universally hated right now throughout the league. Dirtiest team in the League by far

That should be a given he's bad.

All those picks for a bad player who is

Games19goals1assists 3points 4penalty minutes 22plus/minus--6
If that's scary leafs are in trouble lol

This is just garbage. Yes, the Leafs lose and far too often fail to come up clutch, but they didn't fail last year for lack of trying.
You confuse desperate zerg rushes for hard working capability. Two different things. Zerg rushes can be successful sometimes, but...
When Tampa lost game five against the Leafs last year I looked at Tampa players and saw disbelief. No desperation or fear. They were going to win next game. I didn't even bother watching it. And Tampa found that next gear and won the series.

With Tampa’s loss last night Toronto’s magic number of points to clinch home ice is 3.
If Tampa wins all 4 of their remaining games Toronto just needs to go 2-3 or 1-3-1 in their last 5.
Winning our game against Tampa in regulation would also clinch home ice

Lmao. It's hard to believe there's still people out there that think Keefe's comments (which weren't notable or all that different from Cooper's comments) somehow impacted officiating. If only the refs had actually called it as the violent series it was throughout, instead of letting Tampa do whatever they wanted on the brink of elimination while calling us for phantom penalties.

They were on the brink of elimination in the next game with minutes to go until they were saved by a phantom extended 5 on 3.
I didn't even bother watching it.
Clearly.
