The Jets are the latest challenger to Leafs dominance.

Why does Keefe keep putting Thornton in the first line
Cleary he didn't have the energy needed .
Mik is really getting his game together would try him up there again.
Hyman can drive play on the third line with Engvall and Thornton.

I think Thornton should continue getting reps on the first line considering how dominant they were prior to Matthews' injury. Hyman can take a few extra shifts on that line as well to manage Thornton's minutes.

I've actually been happily surprised by Jumbo. I thought he was done when we first signed him, just a depth signing but he looks great. He's skating well, making plays and still looks strong.

Why would yuou break up a working line in that 3rd line. Leave that as is

Joe has done really well on top line. He's not the reason that line isn't effective. Auston and Marner needs to show up as well

The team other than the 3rd line needs to get engaged more. If top two line are not scoring, they are essentially figure skating. Especially Nylander. I really want to like him but he takes way too many shifts off. When he's on, he's good. When he's not, he's just down right horrible. He simply missing that "x' factor he always had. He looks so slow this year

Please just rest the guy! This is painful to watch.

His shot is a pretty huge part of his game. This can't be good for him or the team. It's gotta be important to nip this in the bud than play the game of risking prolonged long term injury while he clearly isn't playing at 100%. It's a tough business because the player wants to play for his team and the team wants him to too, but it's a problem, this isn't the playoffs. He's damaging his wrist, bone often rebuilds stronger from injury but muscle & ligament tissue do not necessarily, they can have more long term complications.

I hope Matthews can manage through these games. We just had two days off and that should help.

We have 4 games from Tuesday to Sunday. If we get 4 or more points from the Peg, I think we should sit Matthews on Sunday against the Sens. We have 4 days off after that which should be really helpful for the entire team to heal.

Going to be pretty hard to win.

I'd rest Matthews and tell him to get his surgery because playing at 30% with no ability to shoot isn't helping anyone.

Just sit Matthews. He’s been average at best and he’s hurting so why the f*** is he playing

plain stupidity

only logical conclusion is that he needs season-ending surgery. I'd prefer he get it now than in the off season -- he'll probably miss the first few months of next season if he waits til off season.

heard on tsn that we play the jets 9 times in the next 23 games (!!!) and no back-to-backs. going to be a wild ride and who gets 1st place will be clearer in the coming weeks
