The thing about how bad Jumbo looks, he barely played and still stuck out. It’s hard to be that noticeable with so little ice time. There was another gear to the game last night, he looked a liability. Not sure what exactly he’s bringing in his current role, but brighter minds I suppose....

Tough game for Nash as well, but I didn’t like Keefe forcing him into a lineup, never having played for us, when you have a hot Engvall coming into the playoffs. Now, with JT out, Gally should come in for offence, makes sense.

The big line dominated play, now we just need some finish and better decisions.

One game, and it was the strangest one you could write up.

That new second line looks pretty decent. Nice to see were not playing a defensive third line anymore with Montreal. We need offense against them, not defense.

I hope the team can rally around the Captain, understandable they seem/looked shook after the incident game 1. If the team can't manage to get up and win the game / series for Tavares we are in trouble and changes need to be made.

I wouldn't say going down 0-2 as the series being over, but we will seriously be in trouble if it happens. Lastly for the love of god, play the body more.. Get in the way slow them down, far to easy for Montreal in game 1.
I think we are cooked. No backbone with this lot. Again.

I like Simmonds and have backed him all season, but he was an embarrassment last night. Allowed himself to get run by Anderson without response, allowed Chiarot to be an idiot all game, and didnt even respond to guys like Petry (Petry!) standing over your player like it's the nba.

If he's not going to chip in offensively and do squat physically he should sit. Both he and Joe should sit. Maybe they'll both show more next time they're in the lineup.

Our bottom 6 is an offensive black hole and with Tavares out we have a massive hole in our top 6. It’s going to take a lot to win. Hard to be excited anymore but hoping for the best. Man I hate this team’s f***ing luck.

Makes sense to have Galchenyuk on a scoring line. Foligno at centre should work too. Although I don't mind Engvall drawing in, I kind of hope the Riley Nash experiment isn't going to be a one and done. Just want the team to even up the series here most of all.

If the leafs are eliminated and this stat does not improve, the entire coaching staff needs to be fired.

Montreal lead the league during the regular season with 9 sh goals, so this might not be the last time we talk about a Leafs struggling PP giving up a SH goal in the process.

I actually thought the Leafs looked good on the PP last night, they just couldn't score. Obviously, you want to see results, but they were moving the puck and maintaining possession in a way that was an improvement on what we've seen in the lead up to the series.

I think Sandin can help with that.

Cannot like this post enough.

Someone needs to have words with Chiarot, to put it mildly.

I'm from Montreal and new here...

It's really sad for Tavares and the Leafs and I was horrified when I saw him on the ice after the hit... But this was accidental from Perry and Chiarot hit was legit!

I'm hoping Tavares will be fine and come back ASAP and be the same player he's always been. I also hope that Campbell is not injured seriously. As much as I would like to see the Habs win this series, I don't want any injuries to any players, Leafs or Habs!

This is going to be a long series I think, and I believe the winner won't be known before game 6 or 7. And if there's a game 6, there will be some people in the stands in Montreal (max of 2500). It's about time!

There is zero reason whatsoever to have him in the lineup if he's not going to play physical. It is infuriating how many players on this team become passengers come playoff time.

Massive hole? Then that’s a problem with the cap, salaries and GM.

Seriously we lose JT and still have Matthews, Marner, Nylander and people are complaining about depth? Thornton or Simmonds?
Montreal doesn’t even have a Nylander to lose let alone the other 3 guys.

What's up with the core? Surely they can take over the series.
