On the PP I would put Marner behind the net like 99 used to do run it from there. Now your PK people have to turn their backs to face Marner which allows the guys above the PK guys to move around to different slot positions for shots and also opens up a quick short pass to the in front screener who can chip it in.

Enough with the side wall guy then passes to the point back to the side wall and try to score from there.

And that is why you're not an NHL coach. Or a Pee Wee coach.

Leafs will find a way. Have some faith. One man doesn't make a team. God bless Johnny but they have enough without him. That's why you need depth.

When Sundin went down we had Alan McCauley... f***ing McCauley... no disrespect to him despite how I put that... but that team went 3rd round . And we have freaking Matthews. winner.

Marner, Nylander, Hyman... Jack has been good and the D was a bit rough but mostly good... game 2 is the game... they'll do it.

Let's go ladies and gentleman... its game 2. Leafs are getting this... and the next 3 after... let's f***ing go.

Anyone less interested in Leafs playoffs after losing Tavares like that?
I just hope he's alright moving forward at this time.
After such a high leading into the game last night, that injury and short handed goal to lose the game has put me on such a low.
Every year we lose a major piece to our lineup. every year....
Kadri out 2x
Muzzin with that freak accident
and now Tavares with this freak accident as well.
Feels like I was put here just to suffer

Really hope Tavares is good moving forward.

Tampa went on a cup run basically without Stamkos and won the cup. If this team is this fragile then clean the house players + management

This team needs to skate, hit and take hits and make plays. If they cant do that then this needs to add people who can and subtract people who cannot

I would like for someone to beat the shit out of Chiarot or whatever his name is

He’s the reason Tavares got hurt and the guy who’s always cross checking Matthews.

f*** that guy. Would be happy if Simmonds could kick his ass.

Lots of people pointing out that there is no reason to panic after one loss. I agree with that, but was concerned by the lack of fight last night.

Other people brought up the Sundin Leafs teams. Those teams went down fighting in the playoffs. To win a one goal game against a Pat Quinn playoff team, the other team would have to seriously batton down the hatches and weather a ferocious storm. I thought Price had a really easy night, and the game looked like a regulation game compared to some of the American playoff games I've watched. Really want to see more fight win or lose.

It's hard to compete at a high level like that after seeing something like what happened to Tavares.

If they come out flat tomorrow I'd be concerned but completely understandable what happened in game 1.

I think it's easier, He went off giving the thumbs up holding his arm up. Should have been motivation. Got word that he was "OK" (as in not needing emergency brain surgery) so should have been able to focus on job. Happens to UFC fighters and boxers all the time. He got his bell wrung and the stupid trainers should not have tried to have him stand up so soon. It's not like the players are on the bench thinking the guy will never walk again, or that he might be a vegetable. Do your job and worry about his concussion later

I can't wait until we dummy the Habs tomorrow and the next 3 games after to silence the shit talking on the main boards. They're celebrating like they just won the cup. Our players were shook after their captain had a horrific accident (and didn't know his status) and even then the game was still close. Add some depth offense in Engvall and Gally and this series is over. We got this shit. f*** the Habs

Man I felt sick to my stomach seeing Tavares go down. Imagine the team that was right there. They were clearly rattled in the 1st period and took some time to realize there was a game to play still. Now jt has rallied them, they will come out strong. We will be fine this series

That Tavares injury was the scariest I've seen since Marc Bureau hit Petr Svoboda at the Spectrum. Svoboda laid there motionless with blood dripping from his temple and I literally thought he may be dead on the ice. Watching Tavares struggle to even show consciousness was frightening and I felt awful for him.

Outside of Foligno getting the fight with Perry out of the way, I was a bit disappointed in the way the team played after the injury, to be honest. However, I expect them to come out looking like a completely different club in Game 2. No need to worry unless they go back to Montreal down 2-0.

Odds of facing Winnipeg in Round 2 have significantly increased and that's a great thing.

After the injury 10 minutes into Game 1 you can give the coaching staff and players the benefit of the doubt. Happy to deal with some adversity.. we're still the better team... we're still going to win :thumbu:
