This is another one of those games where, if the Leafs can have a good start... the Flyers will fold. We generally do not see good starts vs weaker opponents. They were able to rebound vs the Jets though after said slow start.

Come on leafs, dominate another garbage team how it should be done - just like you did against Winnipeg.

I didn't even realize Yandle declined so sharply, guy's not even getting 12 mins of ice time on a trash Philly team. Seems like not even that long ago he was still an ace offensive D / puck mover.

Even at his peak he was a sheltered guy that made hay on the PP. Like a shattnkirk. Both the eye test guys and the fancy stats crowd overrated these guys in a huge way back when nobody seemed to care about quality of competition.

He had his niche as a PP QB, decent transition D too. But yeah he was very weak in straight man to man defense.

I am choosing to believe that his drop in play ws due to the injury and he didn't tell the team he was hurting. He will come back and be the modern day Turk Sawchuk of our dreams

That, and our best in zone defender and most consistent net front clearing D going down to injury

I say Campbell plays a solid game today. Nothing spectacular but we also don’t make him need to be.

Leafs walk off to a decisive 4-1 victory

This move by Philly is one of the most classless moves in NHL history and thats a huge statement in itself , 15 meaningless games left , he would have hit 1004 if he played them all , then he retires with the record until Kessel signs a league minimum somewhere next year and passes him around Xmas . They celebrate Giroux hitting 1000 career and sandbag Yandel from 1000 consecutive , NC......No Class

While I agree they could have handled this a lot better, I’m not sure equating this with them celebrating Giroux’s 1000th (as the face of the franchise and all with the Flyers) is fair.

Knowing that they were not making playoffs and would likely want to get a good look at some of their kids over him, they could have flipped him at the deadline somewhere for a 7th or even future considerations where he’d be able to play out the year. That would have been the classy move imo.

That said, I’m not sure I’d call this classless. They just didn’t take the classy road either.

They played him enough to get him the record, which is more than he deserved. He was a terrible player for them, and is hardly comparable to a guy like Giroux

Excited to watch Abrusseze and Campbell.

And obviously watch Mitch and Auston continue to dominate

Florida is having a bad time playing NJ today losing 6-2. Given this core's history when they played bottom feeders, this won't be easy.

I'd like to see

Bunting Matthews Marner
Mikheyev Tavares Nylander
Kerfoot Kampf Engvall
Aubresse Blackwell Simmonds

Here is a nugget that twitter just informed me.

Matthews and Bunting have the same birthdays. No wonder that line is clicking ;)

Abbruzzese in Philly.

Want to see Nylander really up his game some more. If he’s going, the Leafs will be a very dangerous team heading into the playoffs.
