How is the slow start Mcdavids fault?
Matthews through thirty games has almost half the points of Mcdavid, he’s not anywhere near mcdavid

..... I didn't say a slow start changes the comparison, Matthews had a slow start but that was not typical to him and advanced stats said he should've had more points than he had.

My point was, that despite a low start he still has more even strength points than Mcdavid and hes part of a team that is having much more success than Mcdavids. All those points and Mcdavid is still only a plus 4. Matthews is a plus 14.

Point is they aren't leagues apart.... This isn't singles tennis.

These guys overcame that slow start and some good play from Hart so well, then they totally checked out for Christmas break 10 minutes early and here we are.

The last two games perfectly show the duality of the Leafs.
