GDT: Leafs vs Ducks

Ducks have no right being in this game. Can’t even be mad at the Buds. They’ve dominated.

And it sucks because not like it's a Vezina performance on the other end. Just shitty ice and bounces and misques. Posts and stupid things like that. A few nice saves, but this game could be 9-3 right now conservatively.

Lead looked slippery because they don’t knuckle down. So many touch passes and area passes in a close game, playing that mid tempo game even when they’re doing everything else right.

This game IMO is on goaltending. Every blown lead Campbell looks like he’s about to shit his pants once it’s 3-1. They’ve been dominating the opposition, 39 SOG to 17. We need saves

Nope. Other than a few ozone draws where Keefe loaded up a line he’s stuck to the lines. What you’re seeing is the overlap because the Leafs don’t change on the fly by position. Best player on each line is first up which leads to 10-15 seconds of overlap

My bad the 4th line was more of a "with" not on.

Games like this with a goalie zoned in on the tight plays, fire more puck and look for the dirty goal.

The give and go, deke-out isn't going to work. Leafs need some bodies in front. Plenty of zone time but they need something simple.

I think it’s everything. If you have a 3-1 lead, make the 200 foot trip up the ice a pain for the other team. Dump it in hard, run into their skill defensemen and just pin them in their end with a mix of puck possession AND hitting. Not even Tom Wilson stuff. Just finish the hit and make it a chore for them to stay in the game. If you have a scoring chance, pound it on net for goal 4. Burn up the clock but play with pace. Use momentum against the other team. Instead they’re just Harlem Globetrotting at that medium pace.

They’re doing a lot of good things but this game would look right if the video was played at 1.2x speed.
