Excited for @Antropovsky to tell us how that actually not a good play by Marner

Lol quite literally the only types of plays Marner creates his own opportunities on. He's always hunting for these breakaway steals and sometimes it costs the team defensively as he puts himself out of position trying for steals. Had he failed..he wouldve blew the zone in hopes a Leaf got the loose puck and would put him on a breakaway. Don't believe me, watch the highlights from yesterday's game....Marner attempts a steal, blows the zone and his team defends without him until he gets back in the zone. Stolarz had to make a big save and it ended up in the highlights. Him doing this cost us at least one goal in thr playoffs vs the Bruins. There are risks associated with it. Recall Nylander caught heat early in the season for "blowing the zone" on a similar loose puck play that ended up nine the back of the Leafs net.

In fact before then season started I noted that these are the way he scores. Same way he scored his first goal of the season vs Pitts.

Didn't have much, Matthews was driving the net, probably a second too late, but I'd rather a shot at the net with Matthews in range to get a stick on it or a whistle than a low percentage forced place and a turnover.

Failed play because he couldn't get a primary assist on his own goal.

I hate being stuck on two goals. It’s just asking for trouble. Too often we hit that ceiling in the regular season and in playoffs past and that’s all she wrote offensively.
