What a f***ing pathetic display this has been so far. A little blip of 10 minutes of hard play and then nothing for the other 30.

Well, I guess all you can really say is when they suck, there is no mistaking it. Zero structure, all over the ice, but especially in our own zone. I reckon we've seen this nemerous times this season, but the goaltending isn't there to bail them out lately.
Shades of Saturday night, for two periods anyway...

Tell me again the reason they were losing to Detroit was the 'new' lines. BS.

maybe for the third period they need to go to the new lines

There is literally only one Leaf that can make a NJD look over their shoulder on a 50/50 puck.

And that one Leaf played less than 5 out of 40 minutes so far.

We are the weakest team in the league. Must be fixed
What has he even done lately to deserve more ice time though.

I always root for the boys to win, but if this is what were gonna see in round 1 why wait for changes, start them now.

I'm starting to worry this isn't a slump and just how they play now. They were great before the break, how do u fall off so hard.
Every season we look good for the first half of the season.
Then we start to drop off a bit. Results keep coming through (for the most part), but the systems go out the window, and questions about the goaltending arise.
Then we really start to struggle in the last 20 games or so. We look bad, goaltending goes to shit, players look sluggish with carrying knocks, and the PP looks completely lost.

Then the playoffs start. We put up a fight, but get eliminated at the first hurdle.

Then the offseason happens and we're all good again.

What I hate is how talented this team is and the last few months they've become lazy in the first 40 or 50 minutes every night it seems.

Just sucks because how do we get better? Trading one of the big 4 simply won't make us a better team. We'd need to essentially call er and retool, trading all our elite talent for several blue chips and draft picks, draft like 5 or 6 times in the first round the next few years, and hope this time it all works out.
