I mean...2 of the 3 goals were just straight up terrible to let in. We are going to give up shots and chances against. Literally every team in hockey does. We need competent goaltending or we go nowhere.

Most teams aren't allowing the opportunities we did in the first 9 minutes. They're bad finishes that shouldn't go in, but you don't want to be heavily outshot with multiple danger zone turnovers + odd man rushes in the first 9 minutes vs. A bad team.

Neither excuses the other, both were unacceptable

New Jersey is making a small push after their 4th goal and they just throw things on net quickly. I just compare and contrast to that mid tempo keep away cycle game the Leafs seem to play. They maintain a lot of zone time, look uber skilled and whatnot. But just throw some damn hits and pound those pucks on net once a while.

Couple that with the fact that everyone is open everywhere all the time and we have trouble. One of the poorest defensive efforts of the season for sure. Even if they find a way to win this it still stinks.

Duff won four more Cups and was the best player in the trade. Bathgate and McKenney were long gone by '67.

We did the same as them right after the first Matthews goal. He hit a bar, then Nylander and Tavares throwing pucks on net the following shift.

Why not, he has been bad as well. Just beacuse everyone else here is trash doesn't mean he gets it easy
Especially one of the highest paid D in our team
