The organ player didn't come through really well on the broadcast, but overall, I think he had a solid night. I would be surprised if McLellan was grouping him in with the "top players" comment.

I dunno. His play seemed a touch sloppy and undisciplined last night, but the work rate and energy were good. Would probably be wise to focus a little on attention to detail and playing within the system, to avoid getting caught out. All told though, the job got done, and the advanced audience metrics were probably just fine, so I guess that's me nit-picking.

Talbot made a number of big saves. It could of been worse.

The whole team sucked, but the top line deserves the most criticism.

Larkin & Raymond were terrible. We need them to be our best players, not our worst players. I fully expect both to bounce back tomorrow, because they looked flat, and have been off since the 4 nations.

Wings were gassed. Played 4 games in 6 nights.

Did Werenski get any time off or look gassed last night? Without looking I would guess he played more minutes than Larkin at 4 Nations.

My heart is still warm from that brand-new reporting about their childhood friendship, about which I had never heard before on any Wings broadcast..

Guys on the 4th line need to contribute something too.. in case you haven't heard.

Veleno is overpaid and underperforming.. bad combination. For what he brings, SY should've signed another C at half the salary.

Veleno has shown flashes pretty much every skill you would want out of a good NHLers. a few games over last few years has looked like a legit 2c (like a handful). guessing part of the problem is confidence and maybe he lacks the the hockey iq to be a top 6 player.

If someone lacks confidence after 286 games in the NHL, that's a problem. I think it's mostly the hockey IQ.

The Leafs defeated the rangers and we are just fine. This game wasn't a 4 point as both we and the blue jackets in the playoffs spot now..

Holl didn't make any big mistakes, but Kane did as his turnover led to a goal. Kane is the only player on the team which makes me more nervous with his plays and passes in the defensive zone.
