go look at the posts before Christmas. This board swore up and down Binnington was magic and it was all on the defense regardless of every stat that pointed to his decline. I was also banned for pointing out how average he was. So for the bulk of the crowd here that's crapping on him, theyre FOS.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter how a guy is playing in random parts of the season, but rather his numbers at the end of the season. We can rightfully critique his play in the playoffs since his cup win, but he has been at or above league average even after his amazing 2019 cup run. He was awful tonight and we can also critique that, but his numbers, just on the basis of the stats alone, do not say he is super average or below average.

the best thing to happen to this team was playing through the covid crap last month and watching chucky sideburns spit out #1 performances every night. the team actually played hard for him and loved defending in front of him.

and the worst thing to happen to them was playing binner vs WPG before xmas then not letting chucky sideburns sniff the net again after he went 5-0 with incredible stats.

Make all the excuses for him you want, its not going to change the reality. He's allowed 22 goals in 6 starts. Do the f***ing math.

husso and chucky sideburns dont seem to have issues stopping pucks behind this "atrocious" defense.

worst part is we are stuck with that contract now. hopefully he can turn it around but cant continue to feed him starts when he plays like he has been.

Lots of comments blaming Binnington, but how is it the goalie's fault the Leafs have 2x as many shots on goal? You don't win games turtling in your own zone, especially when you still blow coverage in 5on5.
