Tavares contract has not helped this team either.

I always viewed the JT signing as hopefully win in the first 4 years of his contract, and then it will be not great for the final 3.

I mean...there are no teams outside the playoffs with even a sniff of making the playoffs lol we are going to be in the playoffs that really doesn't even deserve a discussion. If we are talking about Tampa/Florida or Carolina as the options in the first round I don't think it matters. We are getting a killer regardless and I would probably rather go through the Metro.
