Fluke deflection over heads and drops in the net.

But he ended night +1, best +/- on their defense, playing 2nd. pairing minutes.

Just getting development time on a bottom feeder, something he didn't get with a "contending" team in Toronto.
Growning our talent Durning the regular season of playoff Pace seasons. We don't do that it's sink or swim.

Sharks scratching Liljegren.

Just some puck decisions, some reads without the puck," Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky said about Liljegren. "There are some things that we want from him to improve on and be more consistent with, and we're going to challenge him to be probably better than he believes he can be."

This was always the concern with him and seems to still be an issue.
That’s incredible, on such a shit team too. It just validates what people said about him, he’s a low IQ D man that can’t process the game, especially under pressure. Scratched on the Sharks, yikes.

I feel in Toronto we get married to everyone. I think it's due to being desperate for talent (and winning) for decades.

I don’t think we need Lily to flunk out of the NHL for moving him to be the correct move but the guy is just so frustrating in terms of decent talent base vs the mental and compete side which just ain’t it.

He is who he is

I honestly thought he was going to thrive in San Jose. I guess it's still possible but being healthy scratched by another team is a major setback and he is going to start running out of chances soon.

Trajectory is to play with Farjestad or maybe the Swiss league.

We should all wish him well and hope he’s successful. He just wasn’t a good fit here

The only regret is we weren’t able to sell ‘high’ on him and get a great return like we did with Kapanen

Gotta feel for the guy, was hoping he’d find a permanent home and spot in San Jose. Getting scratched by San Jose should really make you shake your head and get to work.

So far, with all the extra ice time he got with SJ - he's been pretty much the same player he was in Toronto.

Heres a thread with SJ posters giving their opinion on his play.

FItting right in.

They still have their 1st. rounder right?

Should be getting another Top 3 pick this year.

Confidence is cooked

It was still handled incredibly poorly, in my opinion. His QO on $1.4 would've been fine.

But no, Tre doubled it; terrible stuff really...

Once you qualify him, he was arbitration eligible. Meaning he wouldn't accept 1.4, would go to arbitration and who knows what he gets (probably 3.5+).

The options were to either not qualify him at all and let him become a free agent, or qualify him and negotiate something similar to what he'd get in arbitration.
