Who knows he might be one day I’m pretty sure it isn’t today though but your right he’s definitely cheaper and lily was top 4 or shipped out and he wasn’t beating anyone out of the top 4 I’m pretty sure league wide it’s known which of the two are actually the better player but ones on the leafs one isn’t I’m cheering for the one we have im just not gonna be unrealistic of which of the 2 is the better player currently
Can't think of any facet of Timmins game that isn't better.

It’s soo easy to poke at that response so I won’t I will say simply positioning since that’s the easiest one and what I’m saying to you isn’t an opinion that only I have former players can see the difference not saying Timmins can’t be the better player in the near future he’s kinda learning how to play in the league at 25 with very little experience but like I said earlier he’s on the team lily isn’t so I’m rooting for him I’m just not gonna pretend that the better player wasn’t paid more

Fluke deflection over heads and drops in the net.

But he ended night +1, best +/- on their defense, playing 2nd. pairing minutes.

Just getting development time on a bottom feeder, something he didn't get with a "contending" team in Toronto.
Sure, and wouldn't get in Toronto or many other teams. I hope he does well with the sharks.

exactly. Timmins has tremendous upside, he's had no real seasoning yet, and if he learns it on the fly successfully, he will outpace Lilly eventually.
Still would not have traded Lilly. He's better prolly than everyone but Rielly, Tanev, and McCabe.

Timmins has been okay. He does make mistakes, but he's a 3rd. pairing defender so it isn't like we're talking Ekman-Larsson, more Justin Holl. And he's cheap.

Timmins is RFA, with Arb.

If they could sign him 3* $1.8-$2.2, probably works for everyone, and gives time for Webber/Danford/... to develop.

I wouldn't pay that for a #6-#7 type Dman unless I thought he had some upside to become a top 4D someday

I'd rather go with a Rafai type for 1M and use the money elsewhere

The problem is Timmons should be in a more offensive role ie; powerplay. But it will never happen here. Perfect candidate to bust out on an expansion team.

Why hate on him now? He tried his best here, never complained about the situation he was in, especially to start the season. Now he's on another team with a chance to play and improve, good for him

I hope he figures it out
If there is anything users on this board love to do, it's to hate on ex-Leafs that did anything less than bring home a Stanley Cup lol

"Hate" is such a strong word. I don't think I hate anyone.

Do I have a bit of a beef with the former GM and his disciplines? Probably.

I understand your point of view. It's not really his fault that his name is caught up in "underlying numbers" debates.

Come in peace and go in peace.

I wanted Liljegren when we drafted him, and spent ever since pulling for him to make it.

Hate how Keefe prioritized Holl over him, and how he wasn’t given any development leash.

Was really hoping Liljegren would grow under Berube, but credit to Timmins for seizing the opportunity and making it his own.

Would still like to see Liljegren put it together. He’s a good kid, no attitude or entitlement like his buddy Sandin.

Wish him well and I hope he puts it together.
