Good trade. Liljegren is an awful hockey player. Getting anything for this donkey is fine by me.
Benning has good advanced stats and terrible real stats.
I like the trade because it cleared some cap space for next year (or this year if we use it).
Am slightly worried Liljegren will figure it out, but good job for now.

That's a pretty good haul under the circumstances. I wish Liljegren well. He showed flashes but his inconsistency ultimately led to his departure.

And there goes the last of our undersized, skilled defensemen who we drafted. I think Liljegren is better than he was given credit for by the coaches, both Keefe and Berube. But if he’s not their type there’s no point holding him and letting him go to waste.

Are we going to say this for every bad defensemen we ever trade on the off chance they figure it out when they leave? lol at some point we have to move on from a player that isn't working.
Haha, how many have you or others said this about a number of traded D? It was said for Dermott, Sandin, Durzi etc. And yet....

not bad, but I still wish we traded him at the draft, might've been able to squeeze a second out of someone, even if it was a year or two later

Im mild on this. I think Liljegren can eventually be a decent #4, but getting some picks for a guy that obviously wasnt liked by Berube is nice.

His value wasn't very high to begin with. A d man that struggled to stay in the lineup during the playoffs probably wasn't something that made other GMs around the league say lets give up a 1st round pick for that guy or a top prospect.
