Solid to get 2 picks, one being a 3rd for a player that had no future with your team.

Wishing Liljegren worked out here but it wasn’t in the cards.

Hoping he takes off in San Jose.

Benning has good advanced stats and terrible real stats.

I like the trade because it cleared some cap space for next year (or this year if we use it).

Am slightly worried Liljegren will figure it out, but good job for now.

He'll be figuring it about as well as Justin Holl is my prediction.

Justin Holl played well in a top 4 role at one point in his career...

Not saying he will, but he has shown flashes.

As I said, it is a good trade for the immediate future and I hope longterm.

not bad, but I still wish we traded him at the draft, might've been able to squeeze a second out of someone, even if it was a year or two later

I don't see liljegren playing playoff hockey so its good to me, I thought he was at best worth a 4th

Im mild on this. I think Liljegren can eventually be a decent #4, but getting some picks for a guy that obviously wasnt liked by Berube is nice.

Im not expecting anything from Benning other than possibly helping the Marlies

This whole situation was handled incredibly stupidly. Pretty much offloaded him at his lowest value
His value wasn't very high to begin with. A d man that struggled to stay in the lineup during the playoffs probably wasn't something that made other GMs around the league say lets give up a 1st round pick for that guy or a top prospect.
